The court case I remember is an ice cream company's ad agency using fine sand in the container while shooting the commercial.

Somebody sued them for misleading advertising, but the courts found otherwise.

I came across this a couple of months ago:

It's McD's Canada, but it gives an idea of food styling.

Yup, the reason your food doesn’t look like what’s shown in the ad, is that what’s shown in the ad isn’t food.
