That’s a good point. Diana came from a titled family; her father was a Lord and 8th Earl Spencer. Kate was a Commoner. Possible class issue at play? Also, Kate & William have been at the forefront of “normalizing” the Royal Family, showing a more informal style. Perhaps that is a factor, too.
Announcement was madde at Kensington Palace? I thought Buckingham Palace was going to make the announcement.
What an interesting perspective. Freddie Gray was a drug dealer with a long rap sheet. Catherine Windsor, née Middleton, is the daughter of two hard-working middle-class entrepreneurs. Her husband is a serving military officer who has defended his country. What, exactly, makes this energetic young couple "scum," in your eyes? Calling them "scum" sounds like what commies say. "They don't work on a production line, so off with their heads!"

I dont think its a class issue. The class system doesnt really work like that. I think its more that she was Kate Middleton and that name has kind of stuck. I know she doesnt like being called Kate anyway, preferring Katherine.

The only people who refer to her as such is ‘the media’ who always presume a familiarity they have not earned.
When it was Diana they referred to her by her first name only conveniently omitting the Princess title when they felt like it.

A baby was born and it was good news. From all I have seen, they are a lovely couple. To call them scum is disgusting. You should be ashamed. The royal family represents British traditions: all the them, the good and the bad. Britain and the United States are rotting from the inside out because we are both jettisoning our past in favor of a self-absorbed empty future.
I'll take IT over Muslim savages, destroying black rioters, and evil leftwingers any day of the week.
There’s nothing absurd about monarchy or a class system. They are elements of the natural order, deeply human, and far more honest and authentic than the sham equality we call democracy.
