Comedian Bill Cosby spoke out against a wave of sexual assault allegations but told a Florida publication he does not have to "answer to innuendos."
Cosby, 77, spoke to the newspaper Florida Today on Friday, before performing his comedy routine at a theater in Melbourne, Florida.
The comedian has refused to address questions about allegations made by a number of women who said he forced himself on them sexually, with some accusing him of drugging them first.
"I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn't have to answer to innuendos," Cosby told Florida Today, which serves readers in Melbourne and surrounding areas.
"People should fact-check. People shouldn't have to go through that and shouldn't answer to innuendos," Cosby told the newspaper, in a story posted on its website late on Friday.
Cosby received a standing ovation at the start of his 90-minute show in Melbourne, which concluded without incident and without the comedian discussing the allegations.

Guilty or innocent, the best thing he can do is to shut up - anything he says, including “hello,” can be interpreted as evidence of guilt by an ambitious prosecutor or tort lawyer, regardless of actual guilt.
Too many women coming forward for there not to be something going on. Saw him in Vegas in the late 80s, with Tony Orlando on the bill. Because it was the late show and he wanted to go home, he came on first; it was his own admission. He sat in a chair the whole time and quickly tossed out his (unfunny) routine. Jerk. The one positive is the insufferable Cosby show won’t be on the boob tube any longer.

I don’t think these criminal allegations are innuendos. Cosby supposedly has a Doctorate and he doesn’t even know the meaning of such a word.

I have no idea. Normally, I’d be pretty sure it was true, at least in some cases.
That said, I also wouldn’t put it past the the left to demolish blacks’ positive role models.
It’s kind of like the Clintons ... the telling thing about the Clintons isn’t so much whether Hillary broke the law on the cattle futures ... it’s that it wouldn’t surprise you if she did.
The thing with Cosby is that it wouldn’t surprise if the Left set this up and is paying off those women (are any of them truly successful? What’s they financial situation? I don’t know.)
The point is that because the Left is the Left, when this stuff comes up, it’s not a good thing that a rational man says “well, some guys are pigs ... but ... I wouldn’t put it past the Left’s Animal Farm Dogs to have done it either.”
So even if he did this to 200 women, it doesn’t change what really matters about this: That you can assume it might just as well be the Left destroying a man, because you know they WOULD if they had the motive and opportunity, just like you know Hillary WOULD brake the law or have someone destroyed or murdered if they were in the way of whatever her (or Bill’s, or Obama’s or Holder’s etc.) Great Vision of the day is.
Climate Change, Ferguson, Trayvon, Fast and Furious, Benghazi blah blah blah -> They do this stuff everyday. Who knows if this is just another instance of it.

Agreed. I still doubt that he’ll go to jail unless he talks himself there, and he seems to be avoiding that.
