When an employee at an IT firm was asked to babysit a co-worker’s plant, he took his duties extremely seriously.

In fact, he took his charge on a tour of the town that would normally be unheard of for a sheltered office philodendron.

Over four days, the Augusta, Georgia, man taught the plant to drive (sort of), went for walks with it and they sat by the river together – taking pictures along the way, of course.

In between comments left by the pun brigade (‘They say pot makes you lazy’, ‘Oh, leaf him alone’ etc.), Reddit users voiced their concern that the philodendron, now having got a taste for the outdoors, might refuse to go back to being the co-worker’s office plant.

Other users admitted the plant showed a zest for life and enthusiasm to grab it by the horns that they themselves craved.

‘That plant has done more in one week than I did in my entire life. I strive now to be this plant,’ writes nobmike.
