Wondering if anyone has noticed the Florida Stste Seminoles football jersey arm and nck trim. Is it my imagination or does the style look like something from "the Arafat Collection".

I have no idea what it is, probably some sort of Seminole thing.
It doesn’t look at all Arabic to me.

Not nearly as ugly as the Miami helmets.

They look like little swastikas. Of course swastikas were used as harmless religious and cultural symbols literally all over the world before Herr Adolf ruined it for everybody else.

The only thing I noticed is that their left tackle gets away with holding on every single offensive play.

The Seminole patchwork on the football jersey sleeves contain the [Seminole] Tribe's symbols for Arrow, Man on Horse, and Fire with the helmet spears crossing in the back representative of the crossed bars of the state flag.Hey, you were close!

The best thing about the Seminoles, is that the Seminole Tribe absolutely LOVES the fact that FSU calls themselves the Seminoles. They are very proud of that, liberals be damned.

The design is based upon Seminole Quilting, which has a wonderful history.
The Seminoles pride themselves in allegedly being the only Indian Tribe that was not conquered by the Federal Government (People debate this, so let's not!) Anyway, the way they have been able to preserve their culture is to have taken their camps deep into the Everglades.
Christian Missionaries were undaunted by the swamps and brought in treadle sewing machines and quilting techniques along with the Gospel. The ever-independent Seminoles beadwork and quill word designs. The result is a unique form of quilting in repetitive designs that look like a woven band, and the individual pieces are smaller than a postage stamp.
A Seminole Quilted Dancing Shirt can cost $1000, and take MONTHS to make.
My sister bought one for her husband (He is a ceremonial Dancer) and she had to buy a used one because they cost so much.

Something went wrong with my post! I meant to say “The ever-independent Seminoles adapter the quilting to their own beadwork and quill work designs.”
Sorry about the glitch!

The Oklahoma State helmets they wore yesterday against Texas are the ugliest I've seen. I'm pretty sure they let Stevie Wonder design them....
Sooner fan here that cheered for Texas yesterday ...BTW

I lived in Houston in the 70’s. Compared to the Astro’s uniform back then, I have not seen a uniform I would call, even remotely objectionable, since.
To: TomGuy
Well I don’t know if its authentic but its supposed to look like Seminole Indian symbols.

The Rainbow Astro uniforms were awesome!
LOVED them.
(Of course, I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s, and the Astro’s had Nolan Ryan then, JRR Richard, Phil Neikro, Jose Cruz, among others.... what was there NOT to like?)
