Evo Debate: Things Bill Nye does not know about science
http://cosmosincollision.com/forum/index.php?topic=63.0 ^

For any who might have missed the debate Tuesday evening, it may be seen on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6kgvhG3AkI

What I was listening to was more of a debate on the age of the Earth than on evolution although the two topics are related. Ham is well schooled in the arguments against evolution, but he believes in a literal intgerpretation of Genesis and a roughly six thousand year old universe; that is pretty much impossible to defend. Nye, on the other hand, strikes me as a sort of a yuppie and an acolyte of Carl Sagan's who has not made any sort of a real effort to keep up with science topics which relate to origins questions; it should have been a lot easier for somebody who was on top of such topics to pick him apart. Ham, unfortunately, was not up to it.

A minimal list of things which Bill Nye either does not know or does not want to talk about regarding science will include the following...

I would like to see a VOLUNTARY idealogy litmus matrix here on Free Republic, but when I proposed it to Jimrob, he called me a newbie.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2145065/posts?page=130#130
To: babygene I don’t think he’s all that interested.
To: MHGinTN It doesn’t matter what a FReeper thinks. It’s just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who we’re dealing with.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2145065/posts?page=130#130
To: Jim Robinson Hah hah, that’s great. I signed up 2 months after you and I’m a newbie. Back then no one even said, “Welcome to FR”. But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs.
I’ve been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESN’T WANT US- SO WHAT’S NEXT?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=762#762
***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we don’t have to drill down on every FReeping thread. They’re wasting our time. Deliberately.

Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

You have any talents in life other than derailing threads?

I have talents for identifying CINOs. You sure smell like one, and that’s only after 2 posts.

Bill Nye is an ass clown. Nothing is what he knows.

Click on the link, it was an interaction between you and me. Is JimRob interested now, as if something has changed?

“Click on the link, it was an interaction between you and me. Is JimRob interested now, as if something has changed?”

I did click all three links and did a search and there was no reference to me at all.

I’ve been on your ping list for LENR forever... and read almost every thread. I probably know more about it than you do, since I have my own design and active project.

Bill Nye is paid performer. Nothing more. And what did this debate prove? It was nothing more than a farce to make Creationists look unintelligent.

I apologize.

There appears to be some sort of transcription error. I am in the process of updating my homepage.

Yes. Instead of having an Intelligent Design expert, they have this the- earth-is-6000-years-old cretin on to prove you’re an idiot if you believe in religion instead of science. They like to make it look like they are mutually exclusive.

Both sides had poor representatives. Who set this up?

I didn't see the debate but I happen to like Bill Nye.

A funny guy who used to appear on Almost Live in Seattle as the "science guy" and "speed walker".

But I had no idea he only holds a BS in mechanical engineering.

Now that's nothing to sneeze at, but he is by no means an "expert" on evolution, global warming, or planetary movement.

Or really anything else for that matter.

But he does look "sciency".

I'd have more respect for him if he had a PhD, like his professor Carl Sagan.

But even Sagan went off the rails with his "social concerns", commenting about things he really doesn't know anything about.

So what does ““Not so we can impose any particular ideology”
You can’t and I can’t, but on Freerepublic Jim can...”

What does that have to do with this thread? Or any thread? Or have anything to do my not being interested in anything?

I do accept your apology BTW. I respect your opinions, at least on the cold fusion stuff which is the only opinions that I am familiar with.

But it goes to show that your idea of profiling Freepers is a bad one. You may just blacklist your biggest supporter...

This is not a profiling. It would be a set of questions one would answer themselves. The purpose would be to let other freepers show you where you stand. For instance, let’s say you find yourself arguing against some evo dude on a crevo thread and it just strikes you that this guy isn’t all that conservative. So you click on his self answered ideological matrix and he claims that he’s pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-limited taxes, with 5% weight on each of those issues, and 85% pro-abiogenesis. What you’re dealing with is a Darwin Central activist.

“This is not a profiling. It would be a set of questions one would answer themselves.”

I think it would be very boring... If everybody agreed on everything, the longest thread would be about 10 posts. FR is as much about debating than anything else. You can’t debate someone who agrees with you.

I like debating as much as anyone else. But FR is inundated with CINO/RINO trolls.

Do you want another 18,000 post thread just to get a few of them to self mollify?
