They have to add Iran and Israel for the future - About 100 times because of John Kerrys tremendous “deal” with Iran. “
“Sure Mr Kerry, we will stop making nukes! Yeah that’s the ticket! You can trust us!”

Most of those were surface and aerial blasts which brings MAD into question.

That’s a heavy load of radiation fallout on California from all the testing.

I’ve had that map in my bookmarks for six months.

Makes one wonder why the West Coast of the US doesn’t glow at night.

Wouldn’t buy the video, yet. In the next few years there will be some interesting additions, judging by recent (brokered) events in the ME.

I like the closing credits to Dr Strangelove much better.

Not sure when Israel became nuclear but surely it was long before 1998. Guess I’ll check.

undeniably scary time-lapse map

I'll deny that it was "scary." I thought it was fun!

I don't see the one that happened when my wife found me cleaning the motorcycle engine in the bathtub.

Most of the testing inside the US was in Nevada.

When I was in college, and Ronald Reagan was in office, the campus libs tried hard to portray Reagan as an advocate of using nuclear weapons.

But as the video shows, nuclear testing almost stopped when he took office. Everyone but the French.

Also...I thought it was interesting. I didn’t know the British did testing of their weapons on American soil...there were a couple.

Remember after the 1960's much of the testing was done Underground.

The U.S. last nuclear test was Operation Julin in 1992

It was a weird feeling to see the U.S.S.R. and the U.S.A. - each bombing ITSELF during all those cold war years.

We didn’t need to bomb each other, we bombed ourselves - and survived just fine... :-)

I also found it interesting to see that more testing went on during democrat administrations than Republican.

Who was blowing them off in the S. Pacific 15-20 years after the atmospheric test ban?
