A soldier, who had much of his face burned away and lost an arm in an explosion in Iraq, has found a wife and started a family on returning to the U.S despite the disfigurement. Marine corporal Tony Porta, 26, fell victim to an IED blast in May 2007 while serving in Iraq, CBS News reports. The blast killed his two best friends and left him unrecognizable - burning off much of his face and taking his arm.

The 20-year-old said he didn't believe he had a life to return to and thought no one would love him given his disfigurement.

But he was wrong.

The Maryland man met Daisy, who refused to be put off by his injuries, and they soon fell in love.ok

Proverbs 31:10-31

The Woman Who Fears the Lord

10 [a] An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She seeks wool and flax,
and works with willing hands.
14 She is like the ships of the merchant;
she brings her food from afar.
15 She rises while it is yet night
and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
17 She dresses herself[b] with strength
and makes her arms strong.
18 She perceives that her merchandise is profitable.
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She opens her hand to the poor
and reaches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of snow for her household,
for all her household are clothed in scarlet.[c]
22 She makes bed coverings for herself;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates
when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them;
she delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
and she laughs at the time to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.

God Bless them both! Semper Fi, Marine!

Where are the survivors of the massacre at Benghazi? The silence of the Obama Regime on this question is deafening!

Fiat Justitia, Ruat Coelum!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Hub McCann: "Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.
From the movie: 'Secondhand Lions' (2003)

I once thought President George W.Bush was the greatest president in history for the gumption and bravado for invading Iraq. The fact of the matter we got very little in return. Tony Porta and his fellow heroes are the reason I don’t feel that way anymore. I am sorry, The invasion was near nowhere worth the price when considering the human cost.

The invasion actually had Muslim terrorists thinking twice about punking the US. Blowback like this wasn’t supposed to happen, in Islamic theology; it indicated some kind of celestial screw-up. Then the liberals went soft and the whole thing deteriorated into a half hearted police effort and rabid Islamics are now laughing again. If Iraq had been set up with a US friendly Shah, and at least part of Afghanistan outright conquered, it would have meant more.

it does, they don’t use it on servicepeople.

the cutting edge treatment involves growing the persons’own skin cells and them spraying them on the areas that need skin. it winds up looking like they were never burned.
