Newly discovered notes from a U.S. Army interview of former Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler doctors reveal that the madman had homosexual tendencies, did not sleep in girlfriend Eva Braun's bedroom, and was doped up with multiple drugs including female hormones. Written in erratic shorthand, Army interrogator Herman Merl, a Vienna-born medical technician enlisted to interview Hitler's doctors, Karl Brandt and Theodor Morell, scribbled "Homosex" in his notebook where he sized up the mass murderer's sexuality.

He then wrote: "Eva Braun = separate rooms" before adding "female hormone - injection 50,000 units." Elsewhere he wrote, "His sexual life and intercourse with Eva Braun was told to me."

Maybe it was the BBC special I watched, but it talked about how Hitler had horrible gas/flatulence and was given some kind of pills made from fecal material to soothe his own bowels. And while there is no doubt that he was insane, he was receiving regular, high dose injections of amphetamines.

So his insanity went to the next level and pretty much stayed there.

In fact they speculated that Hitler's private doctor was either completely incompetent, or was actively trying to kill him.

I suggest you look to the political spectrum that the founders employed which is the premise of our Republic and exclusively deals with government control over the individual.

The same claims of homosexuality are made against J. Edgar Hoover. Claims made it should be noted after he was dead. The morals at that time were so strictly exclusive of sodomy that the slightest hint would have destroyed him. Hoover was so powerful and thus made so many enemies that if in fact he was a cross dresser and/or homosexual those very same enemies would have seized upon those "facts" and destroyed him. Even Presidents feared that man's data files.

You first claim that it would be easy to blow the cover on Hoover for perverse behavior. then you claim even presidents feared his files on them. Not a very persuasive argument to say he wasn't a pervert.

In short, beyond mere opinion there is a a lack of evidentiary support. He was too big a power for there to be a lack of evidence of such behavior. I follow the rule: "for an extraordinary claim there must be extraordinary evidence."

Understood. There is a lack of primary source material on the subject, especially in English. Surprisingly few Nazi era documents have been translated from German.

A very well researched book by German historian Lothar Machtan titled The Hidden Hitler and now available in English. The Hidden Hitler details the available evidence for Hitler's homosexual orientation as well as that of other Nazis. The book is very well researched and is a compelling read. Throughout the book, Machtan backs up what he writes with extensive references to source material.
