Yahoo News posted this photo and others today. As I looked over several, I noticed a strange flying object in one that is clearly seen above the mountains in the distance. Someone found a HD version of the photo and made a cool video of it. Tell us what you think it is below please. You should check out the photos on Yahoo because Yahoo photo links usually only stay around for several weeks. This photo is a bit baffling. The object could be a UFO or a flying insect...yeah NASA doesn't tell the public everything. If they said life (insect or animal) was discovered on Mars, every country with a space program would be sending Mars probes. NASA would fall behind the ESA and JAXA in importance...they don't want that. They want to Bogart the info for national security reasons. SCW

Is Mars really teeming with alien spacecraft? Well, yet another Mars rover photo is generating interest on the Internet, because it shows what appears to be a UFO hovering in the background.
What is your opinion? Are Martians watching the NASA craft, as it monitors them? There definitely is a strange object visible in the latest picture, but who knows what it is. Perhaps it is merely a blind spot on the camera lens.
Click view for a video expanding the latest Curiosity photo. The 30-second footage provides a great closeup of the anomalous sight hovering over the Gale Crater landscape. Watch the footage, and decide for yourself whether this UFO proves the existence of life elsewhere in the solar system.
Since the Curiosity rover landed on the Red Planet, there have been several photos raising the specter of UFOs. NASA, however, doesn’t really do a very good job of explaining what these pictures show, so people’s imaginations run wild. Maybe, even the scientists are baffled by the anomalies.
I watched the video. It didn’t seem to be moving. Maybe it was dirt on the camera lens.
Cylons.
Could it be a marsquito carrying the MARS virus? Also the first photo looks like a large helicopter. Are they on the planet Mars or are they out in the desert? ;O)
Man, that’s quite the website...I gotta catch up on all the aliens, the base on the moon, and all...
I’ve seen spiders hang motionless off webs like that. Or maybe it’s my visual floaters.
That is what I was thinking too.
The delivery truck for a new plastic genechtagazoink to replace the syrup encrusted one? Just a guess. Really it’s the Illinois Toll Road cops. NASA didn’t pay at the gate.
Looks like a 767 fly-by to me
they are looking for James Carville. They need him back on Mars to deal with an international crisis.
It’s a K’Cherr class Klingon scout ship. Crew of Eight. Probably in a bad mood too.
Where is Quix when we need him?
It’s obviously a speck of dirt on the lens. You can see it in the same spot on most of the pictures, whether they are sky shots or shots of the ground.
Or, maybe I am missing something.

>> “Maybe it was dirt on the camera lens.” <<
.
That was my first reaction, but the diehard UFO squad will never allow it.
If it was dirt, wouldn’t it be in all the pictures?
Looks like a buzzard to me.
Are we sure this is on Mars?
;]
It is in all the pictures.
A Klingon war ship, no doubt.
I consider all UFO sitings to be anecdotal reports of
seeing something in the sky that the observer can not identify...No big deal.
As for ET, I will believe in them only when they make contact with us humans.
My own opinion is that any ET that exist is way too far from
our solar system to ever get here.
>> “Are we sure this is on Mars?” <<
.
In the studio, Burbank, California...
Seriously tho, given the amount of debris kicked up by the landing rockets, looks like dirt to me.
>> “A Klingon war ship, no doubt.” <<
.
Nah, just a shuttlecraft.

Well then that seems to be a problem for whoever is calling this a UFO.
It has been a long time but I have done astrophotography where you would get off axis camera effects from time to time and I also was a contamination control engineer for the Hubble Space Telescope and having looked at particles at various magnifications I too think it is dirt on the lens, *sarc* not that Mars has much dust or dirt and that.*/sarc*
Ravenstar
Is that Marvin the Martian? Bahaha! One of my favorites!
Galileo 7?
It’s a piece of dirt on the lens. If you go to the Yahoo Photos gallery, it persists in the same spot in photos 4-6 despite those photos taken of entirely different subjects.
It could be some of the space debris that continually drops down onto the Martian surface, or a captured temporary “moon” of Mars in its death spiral. Or (as others pointed out) some schmutz on the lens. Thanks all! G’night, I just dozed at the kbd again.
It looks like the space shuttle.
Quix posted this a day or two ago over at TrueBlueLiberty.com.
Now the question is - who squeegeed the lens clean for photo #7!!!??
“It could be some of the space debris that continually drops down onto the Martian surface, or a captured temporary moon of Mars in its death spiral. Or (as others pointed out) some schmutz on the lens. Thanks all! Gnight, I just dozed at the kbd again.”
Then why does it have a “I DON”T break for Romulans” bumper sticker?
Lol!

... it would have to be underneath Curiosity for this one.
And how about that penny! Check out the penny. You can see the dust that settled on Curiosity from the landing. In fact, in that reprocessed panorama shot I thought I could see a large cloud of sorts that was still persisting.
I knowed it!
Them Martins is mad at us now! And them Martians is gonna come down to Earth and steal all our wommens!

Meh.
It’s *always* Burbank.
LOL
You are right. It is in the closeup of the penny and the picture before it, of the undercarriage. You can put your finger just above it on your monitor and move back and forth between the three pictures and it is so stable at first I thought it was a piece of junk on my screen, but it’s not.
Serenity doing a fly-by.
