Herman Cain Wasn't the Savior of the Republic (Vanity)
Self | 12/3/12 | Self

Posted on 12/03/2011 12:22:28 PM PST by Lou Budvis

Although I understand why Cain supporters feel let down and disappointed, I don't understand those who are thowing up their hands, conceding the election to 0bama, and declaring the end of the Republic.

Where was there any evidence that Cain had capabilty and experience to lead the Nation?

Did he have years of fighting the good fight with the scars to prove it? No. Compare the battles Sarah Palin fought even before 2008.

Since he is a radio commentator, was he a leading voice of conservative thought? No. If you want a radio host with a thorough understanding of the Constitution and gov't, Mark Levin would be a better choice.

He didn't have a distinguished military career like Col. West. Working on weapons gives you no geo-poltical experience as to when to use them. Oppenheimer may have been the father of the A-bomb, but he was never qualified to decide when to use it.

Finally, if his business experience was in manufacturing or finance, he would have a better understanding of what it will take to bring America back. But,the US doesn't need anymore fast food joints.

He added to the debate for sure, but he wasn't the end all be all.

Cain was fighting the fight back when he helped derail Hillarycare. But I guess that is far too recent.

Herman Cain Wasn't the Savior of the Republic

Herman Cain didn't bow out because he wasn't the savior of the republic. Without regard to abilities or viabilities, he was forced out for alleged activities that other candidates seem to have in their past. Dalliance or adulterous behavior...... Newt, Bubba, etc. Seems kind of unfair to me.

Whether or not he was the savior is not relevent.

What he was was a good man destroyed because he could have defeated Obama.

No conservatives stood up for him, in fact they piled on, which shows me that I cannot stand with conservatives.

Furthermore, I have learned that adultery and/ or the accusation of adultery precludes one from seeking the GOP nomination, thus I will not support Newt.

Wrong! Cain was the only results oriented candidate(Palin too). The rest are just politicians(Influencers) whose main attribute is lying in order to control people for power(Dems are better at it than Repubs)

This is my first time - please be gentle;)

You could have waited a few days before springing your well written, sober review.

Herman Cain’s announcement was well delivered and appropriate. His ‘solutions’ organization is brilliant. It gives his ardent supporters an opportunity to work from the outside to affect the Washington insiders.

He also does not lose his dignity. Not a retreat but a reloading.

“I’ll never get over what was done to Sarah and the left isn’t even ashamed.”

They have no shame. We, those who do, cannot understand it, heck, I don’t think we could even fathom such a thing.

There seems to be more and more things going on in this world I simply cannot wrap my head around.

Every time I think I can no longer be surprised, BAM, surprise!

When does it stop?

Because the frustration is not about losing Cain...

It’s about the fact that the media won.

This is NOT fair... it CANNOT STAND!

If we cannot beat the agenda of the mainstream COMMUNIST ANTI-AMERICAN ANTI-Capitalist TRAITOR MEDIA,

Then it doesn’t really matter who the frickin president is...

It could be the re-incarnation of George Washington himself...

And this country would still be OVER!

Time to focus on the real enemy here...

It’s NOT Iran...

It’s NOT Pakistan...

It’s NOT even Obama...

It’s the RACIST TRAITORS WHO PUT Obama in Office, and who continually destroy ANYONE they want without ANY recourse from those harmed.

Wake up America!

Time to dig up a little dirt of our own and BURY THE LAMESTREAM MEDIA!

Actually I think that's what Sarah has said.

That does sound like something she would say, and if so, I agree with her. While I would prefer her as president to all of the people still in serious contention, I never thought of her as more than someone I would like to have as president.

Just goes to show if you throw enough allegations at a Republican you force them out of the race. Your candidate may be next.

If anyone is going to save this republic, it’s going to be we the people.

Agreed but I'm just not sure most people have the stones to do what needs to be done. That would require throwing stupid concepts like "electability" and "conventional wisdom" out the window.

Lol, I beat you by about an hour. From another thread

It will be ironic when the Cain supporters go to Newt the consummate D.C. insider that represents everything they dislike about government. You just could not make this stuff up, no one would believe you.

Notice all the crocodile tears from Newt already on twitter, the man has no shame.

Where was there any evidence that Cain had capabilty and experience to lead the Nation?

I didn't care if he won a single primary. I just wanted him to stay in the race to tell the media they can no longer decide our candidates for us, as they did in 2008. But I can't stand in his shoes, and imagine Gloria felt betrayed beyond excuses.

These “holier-then-thou” folks should shove a fork in their eyes. That MIGHT make me feel a tad bit better.

Saviour of the Republic? He’s damned lucky that he was able to save his own marriage!

Gloria Cain is an extremely kind and forgiving woman.

Now Herman has to stay home and look at her every day, and cogitate on all the wrongs he has done to her.

If Cain had become president, we would have surrendered to France by 2014.

If our current front runners win, we may wish we could.

Well, you know who definitely ain’t Presidential material ? Slick Willard and Newt “My Three Wives” Gingrich. The left gets to pick the GOP nominee again and SCREW Conservatives and SCREW the Republic. No. SCREW them.
