Time to take a stand.
I'm sorry for the airline employees who would be hurt by this, but the fact is this latest act of extreme idiocy by TSA must be answered.
We were going to fly this Thanksgiving. Instead, we will be driving 1200 miles round-trip. You do NOT have to knuckle under to this travesty. You DO need to oppose it in a real-world meaningful way, even if it seems small.
Therefore, I charge you to do two things: (1) Don't fly anywhere unless it's absolutely necessary. (2) Write a sane, polite letter to the CEO of whatever airline you WOULD have flown with. Tell them you understand the loss of revenue this will cause. But also tell them they have weakly gone along with these travesties, one-by-one, over the years -- but the time has now come to take a responsible stand to force a return to sanity.
Otherwise, there is absolutely no reason they won't go even further in the future -- even though it's hard to imagine what THAT would look like!
Regardless, have a Happy Thanksgiving and tresure your Liberty while you still have some left.
Talk is cheap. The time has come now to act.
I am with you - just canceled a trip to Europe for the summer for 23 of us - we will take the 10 days and do a cruise instead.
TSA is out of control, so let’s punish Delta, United, Contineantal and everyone else. Let’s cause these companies financial hardship, and have innocent Flight Crew, reservations, Ground Support and Gate staff all get laid off - that will show them.

How about we right our Congressmen and ask them that instead of a knee-jerk, reactionary and ineffective approach - we deal with this problem like Israel has. Who is a bigger target and more hated by the Terrorist community than the Jews? Yet, for some very mystical and mysterious reason - you have never heard of a successful attack on Israeli commercial airlines - do ya think that maybe they are doing something right?
I dunno, like maybe identifying WHO their terrorist suspects are, and the using this PROFILE to screen and question? If you are attacked by dogs, you do not screen cats, pidgeons, cattle and mice - you screen the culprits.
I don’t recall the last time a group of Nuns hijacked an airliner.
I’m headed back to canadastan on Christmas and I am already this close to instructing my brother to pick me up in Blaine WA. Sure, the border guards are ass-clowns but at least they wont see a naked silhouette of me or grab my junk.
If things don’t change by mid-year 2011 I’ll be driving cross-country. Hey, I love trains!
I have not been on a US flight since Jan 2005.
One of the great joys of moving out when I did.
I have not been exposed to ANYTHING like this on Europe/Asian flights.

TSA will listen to the airlines. They won’t listen to you or me.
Two week boycott would show them the error of their ways and have the how Air Travel Industry up in arms!
When I read this article, that reports that “O” has said that Muslim women in burquas can only be patted down on the head and neck area and NO further, I changed my mind about a Springtime trip to Europe.

Who knows what could be under those burquas? Explosives, rifles, knives, swords, acid......or even a MALE muslim!
Do the airlines set policy for TSA? Boycotting airlines because you don’t like a government policy/agency is like boycotting Ruger because some gang banger uses a hand gun in a crime.
Driving to Florida with my TaylorMades.
When the airlines will fly me somewhere without requiring me to go thru TSA then I’ll buy their ticket.
If they don't care about their passengers, why do you care about them (if you are a shareholder or investor in the airlines, then I see your point).

Um....no. The airplines begged for the TSA because they thought it would save them money. They had a chance to kill the idea of the TSA long before it was law.

The fastest way to get to the TSA is to have the airlines bitching.

I haven’t flown in recent months. I’m taking Amtrak in three weeks when normally I would have taken a plane.
You obvioulsy don't fly much anymore. Peanuts seem to be OUT since the do-gooders found out that some people are allergic to them.
