A trivia question no liberal could ever answer correctly.
Would ruin the point if I said the source ^

Think you're smart enough NOT to fall into the trap of thinking like a liberal racialist? Try this on for size: Name the first African-American senator. He's not who you think. He's not even who you think when I tell you he's not who you think. Answer will be posted in the morning, if no-one gets it by then.

I’m going to remember that name. It blows the lid off what people think is “african american” and if they mean “black” or “negro”, then they should say “black” or “negro”.

Who was the first black senator to be elected by popular vote? That is more than likely another Republican, Edward Brooke of Mass.

Tertullian, Augustine, Athanasius, and Origen were all ancient Christian saints born in Africa. In the Bible, the Ethiopian eunuch was an African Christian, (and therefore a saint.) Perhaps Simon of Cyrene, also, but there is no Biblical account of his conversion.

Favorite Sammy Davis, Jr. line, on being asked if he’s gay:
“I’m a short, one-eyed, black Jew. Do I have to be gay?”

Theresa Heinz-Kerry IS African American, (though not black), but she is not a senator. Her husband is proof that an idiot can be senator.

Yup. Excepting the eunuch, I figured if people started thinking about Church Fathers, they’d lose the equation that African = black.

If Thomas Jefferson (not a senator) believed in Moses, the parting of the Red Sea, the Decalogue, circumcision and YHWH, but did not believe in the divine nature of Christ, could we say *he* was Jewish?

Mind if I ask how you knew? It was obvious you were looking for a non-black senator before Revels. That narrowed it down to start. Then a little googling along the lines of
+senator +"born in africa" +1800s
moved me along the path.
To: Eagles6; kbennkc
Wait, you’re telling me that David Levy Yulee was Jewish?
