Even the dogs in France are depressed.

I feel sorry for the poodle.

Tell me this is a joke. I can’t imagine a man going to the hospital after being “attacked” by a poodle.

On a serious note: a speedy recovery to the elderly Chirac.
On a joking note: To those who refer to the French disparagingly as “poodles” in fights, remeber that a poodle apparently is stronger than a Frenchman.

Chirac got his butt kicked by a poodle? Nothing to see here folks. It’s all part of French DNA to surrender.

Having had a 70 lb. Standard Poodle, I can conform that being attacked by one is no joke.

This was a Maltese, not a poodle, about 10 pounds and 7 or 8 inches at the withers.
If Chirac got attacked by Ratatoulle the mouse he'd surrender.
Could it be that the Chiracs are the stupidest dog owners in history? Some jokes truly do write themselves.

I grew up with standard poodles and can verify to what you said. They have very large mouths and not much fear (of me at least)....

Maybe so but that one in the picture is an ankle biter.
I don't know about you but my husband would probably say his 70...no...make that 100 pd dog bit him. Poodle would never leave his lips :')

I can only offer that “French Ex-President Terrorized by Clinically-Depressed Poodle” is quite possibly the greatest headline ever.

Ok, a poodle or a maltese? Not the same thing. (looks more like a poodle or a bichon in the photo).
