The Life Cycle of a Nation (Vanity)
Front Sight ^ | November 3 2008 | Ignatius Piaza

Posted on 11/04/2008 8:38:21 PM PST by Lazamataz

Our Founding Fathers were collectively the brightest, wealthiest, and most powerful men of their era. They risked everything they had by declaring their independence from what was, at that time, the greatest military and economic power in the world.

Quite frankly, we have not had such intellect, innovation, and “testicular fortitude” at the helm of our country since then, and I believe will never see men of such strong backbone in our government again.

Just over 200 years later, England is a shadow of its past world dominance and the United States has fallen so far away from the country our forefathers created for us that they would shed tears of dismay if they could walk among us today.

History provides a road map of where the US is heading…

Is our demise inevitable?

No, but ONLY if we study the past and make the difficult, yet proper, decisions to prevent history from repeating itself in our country as it has done with every group of people before us, from every culture imaginable.

Consider this:

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

‘A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.’

‘A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.’

‘From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.’

‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.’

‘During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to spiritual faith; 2. from spiritual faith to great courage; 3. from courage to liberty; 4. from liberty to abundance; 5. from abundance to complacency; 6. from complacency to apathy; 7. from apathy to dependence; 8. from dependence back into bondage.

So WHERE are we, citizens of the United States in the historically proven Life Cycle of Nations?

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Number of States won by Democrats: 19, Republicans: 29 Square miles of land won by Democrats: 580,000, Republicans: 2,427,000 Population of counties won by Democrats: 127 million, Republicans: 143 million Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by Democrats: 13.2, Republicans: 2.1 Professor Olson adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…’

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the complacency and apathy phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the ‘governmental dependency’ phase.

So now we have another election that could place the Office of the President, the Senate, and the House of Representatives into the hands of the Democratic Party.

Should this happen, the Democrats will be allowed to run unchecked, ramming down our throats all of their democratic ideals such as massive gun control, free health care for the poor, amnesty for illegal immigrants, and excessive regulation and taxation of small businesses to pay for their big government as they “share the wealth” at the expense of those making the wealth, through an endless source of new entitlement programs.

So WHERE are we, citizens of the United States in the historically proven Life Cycle of Nations?

The Presidential Election of Tuesday, November 4, 2008 will tell us.

Should we, as a people, be so foolish enough to elect a Democrat for president and place control of the Senate and the House of Representative into the hands of the Democrats as well, then we will rapidly accelerate our descent back into bondage.

Again, the Life Cycle of Nations is proven over thousands of years. The only way we can avoid the inevitable fall of the USA is to recognize the historic path we are following and make the difficult, but needed, decisions to turn our country around by once again placing our emphasis on individual responsibility and liberty rather than government bailouts and entitlements for the masses.

Yes, I know there are Democrats who own guns, attend Front Sight and subscribe to my e-mail newsletters. Your support of Front Sight is appreciated.

However, with all of the issues surrounding this election, there is really only ONE issue that is the Litmus Test of Freedom and that issue is GUNS IN THE HANDS OF FREE MEN.

Without guns (the same guns the government has) in the hands of the citizenship, we cannot remain free.

With guns in our hands, we can NEVER be placed back into bondage. Our Founding Fathers knew this and so do our modern politicians.

McCain is no hero of gun owners and the Second Amendment.

However, Barack Hussein Obama and Joe “Assault Weapons Ban” Biden are notorious enemies of gun owners and the freedom a gun in your hand guarantees.

Anyone who owns a gun should understand this: Ultimately, your freedom and your ability to protect your family rests in keeping your gun in YOUR hands and not the hands of the government. There are 80 million gun owners in this country. Collectively, if we voted the Litmus Test of Freedom, we could control America’s destiny.

For this reason and this reason alone, for ALL 80 million gun owners there is really only one choice on November 4 and that choice is Sarah Palin.

Very inspirational but the only place you will find that story is on some conservative websites, Tyler (actually I think it's Tytler but I'm not in a place where I can check) never wrote it, it's a 20th century rant.

Submitted respectfully: A quibble, at best. The subject and the import of the words are what counts.

It hurts being beat up, having the wind knocked from your chest. But with defeat comes opportunity. We need a conservative revolution, not just a majority of Republicans. In the last few years, the Republican party has been a disappointment. We tried the moderate experiment with McCain and it failed. After Obama’s honeymoon has ended, it will soon time to promote our newly redefined ideology. There is a silver lining in this dark cloud. I do not believe Obama’s election is due to an ideological shift in the country, but the timely amalgamation of numerous uncontrollable factors. In a sense this was Obama’s perfect storm. Any Democrat nominated would have won under these circumstances. Have no doubt, we shall recover and we shall do so with much more potency that would have been possible had John McCain won the election. This is our time of reflection and our ideology will ultimately prevail, because we believe in empowerment rather than enslavement.

this virtual rally won’t work. Conservatism needs real leadership in the real world. Logging off and hitting the pavement is what we need to be doing. Anything less is an exercise in futility. The democrats had a product, they got thousands of investors to provide the funds to bring it to market, they executed a brilliant marketing strategy. We need to do the same.

I may have become complacent with a Republican majority in the past. Through my inaction, I am partially culpable in my party's defeat. Fortunately I have received new found inspiration tonight.

The first thing I intend to do tomorrow is call everyone I can think of in the state of Mississippi to demand an explanation as to why I was never asked for identification in order to vote today. The lady working the polls said "We aren't allowed to ask for identification, you just sign next to your name in the register and you can vote." I could have voted for my neighbor for all they knew.

That's my baby step 1, as Dave Ramsey would say.

It’s odd: I’ve always risen to my best when things are at their worst. I see with sudden clarity then. It’s obvious we lost to outright socialism today

Yes, but those that voted for it never knew that's what they were voting for. It was up to the candidate to effectively point that out. He didn't do it well enough.

WE are collectively the brightest, wealthiest, and most powerful patriots of OUR era...... we can fix this !

Have a little faith folks. Praise the lord and pass the ammo as usual preparedness of course ...... Yet, IMHO, we can fix this if we start NOW and don’t sit on our butts whining about a loss ! Not one thing WE can do about THIS election shy of the lawyers going after fraud etc ....out of my range of abilities to do such shy of fiscal and patriotic support.

All of congress needs to be flushed, ALL. MSM OPINION Shows need to be isolated by zero dollars to sponsors of radical anti American programs and web sites that call themselves news.

Election process restored with a verifiable system that uses a system of ID that can not be counterfeited by criminal or seditious agents. State drivers license or state ID cards with a photo, a matrix and or a RFID etc and other viable tried and true security measures gives one vote to the person in front of the election official. A system of election monitors that oversee a process. Election monitors that are unknown to each other, not from that district, county or even that state for a few of them as this is a FEDERAL process as well as a state level issue.

Fair count, fair vote, real voters........they are America, they make the decision, they are ALL that counts !

All the ideas, all the agendas to promote American traditions and values, security, health welfare and morale, energy etc is worthless if it can not be promoted in a honest fair manner. Presented by public funded media of TV, Net, Radio and Press.

If in the end such an effort can not be tabulated properly without corruption then all the time and proper education of the FACTS is wasted and we and America continue to lose.

Has to be a way to not censor or control the opinions of 3 dozen or so popular talking heads, be they pro or con. But to educate the American Idol fast food sheeple as to what is done to them by propagandists on ALL sides of an issue.

We are a collective pile of patriots, pundents, pissed off anarchists, paupers. peons, profit mongers, polidiots, presstitutes, posers and pin heads called the populace.

WE are the people , we make things happen !

Do it !

Just my take from here in the cheap seats on election night ! I want to add my deep gratitude to all who voted, tried and made exceptional efforts as best they could as individuals and groups to keep sedition and socialism at bay. Great efforts as usual from a great group of folks I know do the right thing every day for America !

Thank You ...... Thank you all my friends !

Stay Safe and Keep the Faith !!

In all honesty, the popular vote wasn’t that far off between the two. If the 46.4% who voted Palin/McCain were to simply be very “selective” about where they spend their money, this could be a huge factor. We’ve been doing this for quite some time, as have you.... but if even 40% among our ranks were to do this, it would be quite an impact.

Thank you for pinging me on this. I remember what happened to dad’s businesses during and post Jimmy Carter years and it terrifies me that we’re in for another round of that type of mess.

America does need reclaiming.

Not sure if you’re familiar with Quinn and Rose out of Pgh in the morninings. They are speaking of the same thing this morning.

What to do? Move out of rat parasite zones.

Those are the big blue urban rat infested areas.

Move to a deep red region. In the old USSR, Soviet citizens called this, "Internal emmigration."

It's the best you can do, under the circumstances. Life will be much better in (relatively) freer states and counties, where the local police will act as buffers against the federal jackboots. Under no circumstances live in a blue county, AKA a rat parasite zone, where you will be the host organism, chained to the government's rat wheel and bled dry.

Me, I’m pretty damn disgusted this morning.

I’m also sad about the undeniable fact that race will continue to divide our people.

But eventually I’ll come around, and will be proud to be a part of the effort.

It was a double bloody Tuesday for me. I live in that moron Murtha’s district in PA. He just squeeked by and it should not have happened.

I know the sun will come up tomorrow but am thinking it’s going to be a lot more expensive.

I’m hoping this slap in the face is actually just what the doctor ordered for conservatism. I’m ready.

we’ve been looking at rural williamson county for some time now, this will only speed it up

were if feasible, we’d sell everything and go back to mississippi

my wife would love that

80% of the white population there share our values

it’s maybe half around here

we talk about it a lot, everytime we are down there....

things will change some but it will take a lot of time and things change in a serpentine way, I doubt I will live to see anything like Magnus or 1994 again

I don’t think this is just a pendulum swing, due to changing demos. Does anybody think Cali is swinging back? I don’t. Now VA and NC are turning rat. We’re losing the long struggle, largely due to changing demos as a result of amnestied illegals.

Where’s Williamson County? I think Eastern TN and Northern AL are terrific. So is a lot of MS.
