Just breaking on KUSA-TV in Denver that the suspect arrested today in the case matches the DNA at the crime scene. Nothing on the web yet...
Tell me they just didn't "take a swab" and are waiting for the results???
If he's not a match, I hope they release the crazy little fruit fly and let him earn his own ticket back to the US..

Pardon me, but the autopsy said evidence of a sexual assault was "inconclusive." Wherever you heard she was sodomized with a paint brush, it is most likely embellishment.
Who said anything about sodomy? The Medical Examiner from Phoenix was hired by the Boulder D.A. to review the forensic evidence and give them his opinion. Smart move by the new D.A. He found a sliver of wood in Jonbenets' vagina and matched it to a wooden paintbrush in the basement. He correctly deduced from this evidence that the butt end of the paint brush was used to symbolically rape Jonbenet, not uncommon with sexual predators. This caused the abrasions to her vaginal wall and was responsible for the blood found in her underwear. This M.E. was part of a panel of experts on the Nancy Grace show Wed. night.
Look: If the DNA matches, then an apology is in order. However, that does not explain the ransom note or the behavior of the Ramseys. Anyone who says what they did is in line with the discovery of a dead child should get their head examined.
The M.E. from Phoenix let slip some info that was new to me and I've read a GREAT deal about this case. Jonbenet was raped with a paint brush. For either of her parents to do something like this to that little girl there would have to be a LONG history of pathological and criminal behavior. It isnt there. Case closed.
As for the behavior of the Ramseys, I really dont see what the problem is. Actually, we really dont know how they behaved. And I dont blame them at all for seeking counsel from an attorney. I would have done the same. The ransom note is not a problem. Whoever the killer was, I believe we'll find out he worked in the house as part of a remodeling crew, most likely painters and either overheard Patsy talking to John on the phone about the money or saw some paperwork. WAY too much has been made of the ransom note and it is the first place that people who hate or are envious of the Ramseys , hang their hat. The real evidence in this case points directly to a very sick predator who violently and brutally raped/symbolically and killed this little girl.
Well, just as you and your cohort are quick to judge us (who, by the way built our opinions over 10 years time versus your 1 day with this new supposed confession) with the benefit of only a day or two coverage on the little sicko in Thailand, your bubble will quickly burst as it is now looking more like he just wanted to get his ass out of tough ass Thai jail...The guy is unbalanced and most likely was NEVER near the poor child. Quit grasping at straws because you have empathy for the mother et al. For you to remember everyone's tag who didn't fit your opinion on the discussions a while back tells me you've invested WAY too much of your emotions in this case.

Hah. I see you haven't kept up with your reading, else you'd know he wasn't IN a Thai jail until the US issued their warrant. He might have had other reasons for a confession, but getting out of a Thai jail wasn't one of them.
I have been out of town and could only get a glimpse of CNN (and some local NJ outlets) once in a while - poor source. Regardless, there is enough to be fairly certain that he wasn't anywhere near Boulder when she was killed; and that was the main point of my comments to your "calumny" remark.
Karr will be written off as a kook, probably charged for something unrelated to this, and this whole episode will probably serve to reinforce those who believe it was an "unconnected" perp that killed that little girl. Me? I think we will never find out what really happened.

That said, the alibis are not at all certain. His ex-wife is now backing off the "certainty" thing, and there's also the problem of the dualing alibis--his brother was in one state, and claimed he spent that Christmas with him, and his ex is in another, and says SHE spent that Christmas with him. Some magicians of old used to claim the ability to BI-locate (be in two places at the same time), but this guy seems to have performed the feat of TRI-locating! ;)
Fox News is reporting that he's now on a plane back to the US--perhaps an arraignment will be soon forthcoming. If so, we might learn more. So far, most of what the media is reporting is rumor and unsubstantiated stories. You can almost get whiplash trying to keep up with all the retractions and changes.
(Note to ALL--if the media can't cover a smaller story like this one, how wrong must they be on the Middle East coverage??)

He was ten years old! Do you honestly believe he raped his sister with a paintbrush? The dna found in her underwear and under her fingernails DOES NOT MATCH him or the father. We cannot draw conclusions from what we read in the media. The Thai official who said that Karr said specific things now says he misspoke.

Yes, I'm a guy. And you're probably right. I hadn't assumed it was an all-women discussion in this thread, but it may well be close to that. I'm no expert on women, but I should know by now that you don't try to break into a conversation between women unless you 1) are one, or 2) are very charismatic. I should also know that it is impossible to persuade a woman that she should not be interested in something. That said, there hasn't been much in the way of attacks against me. It happened last night on another thread, but that's unrelated.
