That’s my point. We DID see it. Constantly.
But at such a low rate in the USA and UK that it didn’t register until COVID... Because we didn’t have other bird flu epidemics exponentially increasing the incidences.
Basically, the reaction to COVID deaths is a bit like people with a crippling fear of flying but jaywalk without thinking about it all the time, waking up one day to a major multi vehicle pile up on their doorstep involving pedestrians, and suddenly the realisation sets in that they always were far, far more likely to be killed crossing the street than by dying in a plane crash.
The last time we really saw a deadly pandemic in the UK was a century ago, with influenza. We rarely saw it at all during severely cold winters but they’re few and far between in the UK nowadays. So we’ve gotten complacent.
The plague we’re taught about at school in the UK had a double whammy - the first interaction was brought in by ship and needed close contact (bubonic plague) to spread from town to town, but then it went airborne causing pneumonic plague all over the country.
Japan, Korea and China have been observing the effects of bird flu on their doorsteps for far longer than us, and it’s why they locked down far faster and far harder than we did. Can’t blame COVID vaccines for that.
There’s a film made many years before COVID where the world was hit by a flu pandemic and masks/gloves/social distancing were all introduced to slow the spread. That wasn’t really a dystopian plot about gubmint control, it was based on scientific analysis of how best to combat a deadly pandemic involving airborne viruses... But it’s also based on historical fact. Those who avoided close contact with the infected escaped bubonic plague, and those who covered their faces were less likely to get pneumonic plague. Folks who survived the latter invariably had genetic or congenital factors working to their advantage, but we now know there were downsides to those factors.

That’s been true in my family. What is mildly amusing is that the most obnoxiously sanctimonious health and fitness freaks (in my family) are the ones who are dying first, and suffering with joint/back aches and pains.
We all die. I just don't want to die sitting on a couch. Maybe it will be a motorcycle mishap, mt. bike off the wrong drop, or ski into a tree. But we don't always get to choose. Only maybe mprove our chances of it NOT being on a couch.
God is in charge, ultimately.
My perfectly healthy ex-brother-in-law got the vaccination. Not long after, they found a tumor in his brain. That tumor turned into 50 tumors. He died last week.
The British answer to that is, we had Derek Draper - the very first notable political figure in Britain to contract COVID right at the very start of the pandemic.
No vaccine existed at the time. He spent months unable to walk or talk, had serial medical emergencies, and never recovered.

Bear in mind the British political establishment in March 2020 only had his specific case on its doorstep, and the convoys of body bags in Chinese streets, to assess how bad could things get if COVID spread in the UK like influenza or bubonic plague did.
Their assessment was, this could kill millions but leave even more people alive needing round the clock care for months or years.
At that time there was little evidence to suggest you could just have a COVID party with your friends and be over the worst of it in a week.
A virus can enter through your eyes. The mask is useless.

I think it is because they were all given saline shots or some kind of vitamin. Remember early on, all the first responders getting shots? You don’t hear about any cops/firemen/EMT’s who have died from the shot.
Look at how many in the US Senate are in their 70’s and 80’s. Not one of them died. How many times did the media show biden getting a shot and he is 80 something. Several members of my family are in the medical industry and were required to get the shot. None of them had any side effects.

While we’re being honest here, then, how many Americans truly and honestly believe that Biden is the WORST President this country has ever had? Arguably so, in fact. Biden’s abysmal conduct of foreign policy, agreement with NWO factions throughout the world, unchecked illegal immigration, reckless economic policy, egregious freedom-taking policies, illegal investigations of law-abiding Americans and on and on and on and on.
As far as Covid...there is a difference between a President (Trump) who was told by Fauci, et al the Covid was unexpected, real and dangerous and a later President who had much more knowledge about the scandemic and used it for control of Americans.
What would have had Trump do in the EARLY stages with no indications/revelations of Fauci/Collins support for Chinese viral research, Big Pharma’s machinations and FDA incompetency/collusion in rushing approval through at warp speed? And Trump’s ‘support’ of Fauci connected with his Presidency? What’s he gonna say but that he believes/believed he did what was needed. Regardless, Trump gets this early Covid response flak from some and gets more flak from others who should really be ticked off by what Biden et al did with it.
In any case, ANY length of office by Trump, lame duck or not, would be better, period. I want my election back and I want those involved in the Biden Administration called to task for their actions.
I get your response to Malpeirce, but you mention these cases coming out. There are always bad things happening in aociety. Human trafficing is happening and getting worse all the time, but we don’t hear about it cause trends in news only last so long. So are more people dying cause of the jab or are there just more people posting and talking about it, especially in the circles we read. If we read liberal circles you would be hearing other “bad” things and think that is the biggest news of the day. Are there really more young athletes dying than before, or are there just more people likely to broadcast the events cause it may be something more than natural causes. I personally haven’t taken a side. Didn’t get the jab. Had a heart attack at 51 during Covid so got the full court press from the Cardiologist to get the jab. IDK, but if all these statistics are true, I would think it would be impossible to see a cardiologist these days. I got the best in town because I was pretty young, it should be impossible to see him these days, but its not. He also never brought it up again after a year. We need to consider both ways of looking at this.
And one of mine same way before the pandemic. It unfortunately happens and always has been.
