I'm a huge fan of proactive thinking, where you interrogate all evidence that you see whether it confirms your cognitive biases or not. I discourage passive thinking, which is where you just take things as they come provided they align to your prejudices or beliefs. If all one does is read stuff you know you'll agree with, you'll be cursed with confirmation bias and you'll be very easily triggered. This is really bad for your mental health.

Never get just one perspective on something. Never latch onto the first version of a narrative, and disregard all others. Doing so only makes you look like an ass in the long run.
