According to the CDC’s data released on May 4th, 2020, more than half of all deaths related to the Coronavirus are in the small area of New York City, New York state and New Jersey:
In addition, when comparing total deaths in New York City to Seoul, South Korea, the numbers are staggering. Seoul has more people in a more densely populated area, but as of a few days ago, it only incurred 2 deaths to date, to New York City’s thousands:
Here's a question. Why does Seoul, South Korea (a city more populated than NYC, with nearly double the population density) have 2 covid deaths, while NYC has 14,000?
And "social distancing" and "testing" are unacceptable horseshit answers. pic.twitter.com/yeaiEMP3EG

According to the CDC the total deaths that are categorized as “coronavirus only” stand at 38,576 as of yesterday, May 4th, 2020. If you add up all the deaths for states that President Trump won in the 2020 election, you would find that 77% of the deaths occur in Democrat states. Also, note that President Trump won 30 states out of 50 in the last election:
R’s | 8,860 | 23% |
D’s | 29,760 | 77% |
Total | 38,620 | 100% |
Maybe because dumb a** Cuomo JUST ordered the buses and other mass transportation to actually be cleaned every day.
Because Seoul doesn’t have a power mad wanna be Pol Pot liberal/progressive mayor?
I bet the mayor of Seoul didn’t force nursing homes to accept elderly and positive Covid-19 patients either.
I guess that's what happens when you have 10 public union bosses for every one worker bee. Can't actually do the job they were supposed to do. Yes, it's a failing of Democrat leadership, or lack thereof.

DA Cuomo sent sick people back to nursing homes.
DA Cuomo allowed confirmed positives to continue to work in nursing homes until last week.
I suspect he also allowed prison and jail transfers of sick inmates.
Seoul has masks for all, abundant testing, contact tracing, mandatory quarantine, prompt government response, a cooperating, monocultural population that learned from the first SARS virus.
In other words, Korea is much more big government, authoritarian and collectivist than the bluest of blue states.
I have been asking the same questions.
Why in Dem states and Dem areas like here in FL are the numbers so much higher.
One would think the Dem areas are exaggerting the numbers to keep the economy coming back in order to hurt the President in the election, to have mail in votes, and to get a bailout using this as an excuse.
They have been using the flu, COPD etc etc etc for their numbers.
There are two essential questions posed.
Why are coronavirus cases predominately in Democrat controlled areas?
Answer: Democrats control metropolitan areas. High population densities lead to widespread transmission.
Why does Seoul only have two reported deaths?
Answer: One is that there are only two reported deaths. There may be many more either hidden by family or by their government.
Secondly, South Korea placed draconian procedures and laws after their MERS outbreak. When the coronavirus appeared in South Korea, widespread testing was mandatory. Citizens could not refuse. Citizens that tested positive were immediately detained and isolated - imagine hospital prison. Anyone who tested positive had their mobile phone data and credit card data seized to track past movements. Anyone they came into contact with was paid a special visit from government medical squads. If they tested positive, see above. Hot spots like that mega-church were shut down. All members isolated until they tested negative twice.
Third, they might have gotten lucky. There are now over thirty strains identified. Some are less virulent, less severe.
Why Do Democrat States Have the Highest Number of Coronavirus Deaths?.
Subways the went to fewer cars and less cleaning now they went back to more cares and started to disinfect them to little to late, democrat logic at work.
Liberal apologists expect us to believe that it has to do with population density, as if New York is more tightly packed than South Korea.
Very interesting.
I suspect that the difference is culture.
As of today, South Korea has had 10,804 cases with 254 deaths for a death rate of 2.35%. A total of 9,283 or 85.9% of the South Korean cases have recovered, with 1,267 cases remaining active.
Many Asian countries take very seriously the threat of infectious disease, since they still actively remember SARS. I think that South Koreans immediately started practicing social distancing and wearing face masks when the news first hit about the new virus in China. I also think that they managed to keep the virus out of nursing homes, so their most vulnerable people were never exposed. In addition, the rate of obesity in South Korea is low, which is probably another factor in how they kept the death rate so low (obesity is one of the conditions that increases severity of Covid-19). Note that much of this is conjecture based on my knowledge of Asian cultures; I would love to see expert analyses of how South Korea handled the pandemic.
New York City, OTOH, is run by Democrats, who are experts at getting elected by appealing to emotions without having any real qualifications for performing the job of an elected official. (AOC is a prime example of that!) So when the crisis hit, NYC did not have anyone competent to make the right decisions. There is also the American culture of “me first” which is all too prevalent, especially among the young. Their attitude is, “Why should I have to be forced into social distancing when it’s only old people that are dying (and the faster they die off, the better)?” So, the spoiled brat culture is a factor in the spread of virus in highly Democrat places.
None of which can account for only TWO deaths in a city with twice the population density of New York City and a much bigger population to boot, while NYC has nearly 15,000 deaths.
Not to mention Cuomo has long ago made face masks compulsory, instituted harsh lockdowns since March under penalty of arrest and Trump now has America with far more testing than any other country.
Third World hygiene. Next question?
None of that can explain only TWO deaths in a city of over 9 million with a higher population density than NYC and a bigger population.
Why Korea? I don’t know.
Why Democrat states? Urban crowding.
The decisions democrats make are always based on a political agenda, which is why their decisions always have destructive consequences. When decisions are made without political considerations, but solely on what is best for the public, they have a very high percentage of success.
There are financial incentives for checking the box.
+1
Social distancing, face masks, draconian harsh lockdown measures, NYC has them all since March.
We are taking about a staggering difference between TWO and close to 15,000.
