Axiom: It is better to be alive than to be dead.
Major threats to human existence and genetic death of the human race include: 1. Alien attack 2. Sun death 3. Major asteroid collision with Earth
But Freepers do not worry as I have a plan to protect against the events listed above. This plan is based on two necessary human achievements: 1. We must live and reproduce on other planets/moons/spacecraft. 2. We must advance technologically so that we can defend ourselves against an alien attack.
The necessary precondition to these achievements is massive technological growth. And technological growth is fueled by massive economic expansion. Massive economic expansion requires economic freedom and massive population growth. This population growth is necessary to have the economies of scale to allow tech entrepreneurs to engage in extra-planetary colonization and to build the necessary alien defenses.
Based on the above we need lower taxes and people to stop using contraception. The USA is critical to my plan. It is a beacon for economic freedom and opportunity. But we also need population growth and I am less optimistic about this part of my plan. How can our wealthy population decide to make their lives more challenging by having more kids. How can we convince people to heed Gods command to go forth and multiply?

Most of the TV/Movie alien invasions depend on us being attacked by hive creatures. That way, we can kill the queen and win.
If we are attacked by non-hive creatures, we are doomed.
Space aliens would be hard pressed to slaughter 70 million human babies, or 50-100 million Chinese, or 30 Million Ukrainians, or 6 Million Jews, etc., etc.
If we could find a means to neutralize liberalism we could solve many of our problems.
You aren’t going to be able to make everyone go off of birth control, but, if you want more people and more family stability then we have to go back to multigenerational families. The nuclear family might be convenient for industrialization but it is inherently unstable. Many hands make light work, and more time for baby making. It’s also more economical to share resources between the generations and makes it easier for young couples to get ahead.
I agree that communism is a threat. But it isnt directly a threat to all human life. It is a threat in that it slows our technological progress which, in turn, makes us more vulnerable to something more deadly.
A culture change...a religious awakening....something is required. But I firmly believe in multigenerational families.
In order to fight off every possible advanced alien civilization we will have to become transhuman. We will end up becoming the authors of our own demise.
Put the drink down and go to bed
Mohammedism...
"The problem with massive technological advancement is that it will necessarily lead to the human race using some combination of genetic manipulation and cybernetics to transform humans into something other. In order to fight off every possible advanced alien civilization we will have to become trans-human. We will end up becoming the authors of our own demise." (by who_would_fardels_bear)
Snap! Once upon a time I fancied I could write a story based on that classic theme Man vs God, aka The Creation rebelling against The Creator; maybe in a thousand years we have so upgraded our DNA (so-called) that we are afraid of nothing.
I think paranoia will persist through the centuries and there will be a political imperative to be the biggest baddest Creature around. The Leaders will always fear that somewhere in another galaxy a superior DNA is lurking and presenting a danger for there descendents; i.e., a threat exists, and it is deemed better to join the fight to subdue "It" or control "It" while the threat is "young" and in its growth phase.
How do you survey a galaxy for species that could be a threat? How do you research the DNA facets of a zillion species with a intent to incorporate any and all superior facets into your own species? The alternative? There may not be any alternatives. And if the DNA facet is incompatible or unworkable for some technical reason, it is likely the decision would be made to destroy the perceived threat. Hmmm.
In this future our species has become parasitic, paranoid, ruthless, brutal, dominant, and, in short - monsterous.
Our species has passed out of being Human and has become a law-of-the-jungle "Beast" and a therefore existential threat to all other life forms and populations. Creepy. Is that the destiny of our kind? To master a galaxy at the expense of falling so low?
2x2 = 4
2x3 = 6
2x4 = 8
Somebody put 50 rats in a cage/ Fed them all they wanted. Soon over populated and killed each other off.
Trouble here is the low IQ’s overbreed and overwhelm the systems. The system pays more for extra births so killing itself.
