Our cat isn’t that crazy about sardines. Or salmon, mackerel, etc.

However, we call tuna “kitty crack” because he absolutely has a fit over it. He likes tuna-flavored cat food, but actual canned tuna, OMG he loves it! He doesn’t get a huge quantity but he’ll lick every single tuna molecule out of the can.

I’m the same. I prefer mine in mustard sauce, or tomato sauce.

Fresh and grilled whole ... in Portugal with a bottle of Vino Verde. Had them there many times and never tasted better!

I’d never eaten a sardine until recently. Even more, I was vocal about not eating them “I’ll eat anything as long as it doesn’t contain sardines!” was a line I used frequently. I finally tried a small portion of sardine on an appetizer with a cracker and end done exotic cheese. Very small portion. But still, not bad. I increased the size for the subsequent apps...still not bad. I’m open to more!

Same here. I seem to eat them once a year. Haven’t had ‘em as a snack with beer, however. That would probably up my intake.

Been eating sardines since I was a little kid, and these are the best I've had:

Thanks for reminding me to add them to my shopping list.

I don’t like fish in general, unless it’s battered like a fish fillet. However, I know that sardines are very nutritious and I’d feel better eating some fish than eating meat (vegetarian, previous vegan).

Is there a way to ease into eating them? What about a particular flavor? And, aren’t you supposed to eat them bones and all? I’m a little weird about mouth feel of food. Are the bones something you need to get used to?

I’ll eat anything that comes out of the water.
Been on a salmon kick for months now.
I’m hoping that if there’s enough migratory radiation in them from Japan, I’ll eventually get superpowers.

I love fisherman’s breakfast. Heat up a bowl in the oven to 450, grind up a tin of sardines with chives and garlic, put it in the bowl and let it bake for 4 min. Crack two eggs over it sprinkle salt and pepper, let it cook another 4 minutes.

Spread on bread or crackers.

I tend to eat Caesars, standard, chicken, salmon, etc in the warm weather months. Here’s to hoping they get it straightened out by spring.

Wash down fish oil with milk and you get the same benefit, without the sardines.
