3D printing could make Sen. Dianne Feinstein's proposed 'bump stock' ban obsolete
The Washington Examiner ^ | October 4, 2017 | Philip Wegmann

On Wednesday morning, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced legislation banning bump fire stocks — accessories that transform semi-automatic rifles into machine guns.

Already 20 Senate Democrats have co-sponsored the bill and even some wayward Republicans have promised to consider it. If successful, the bill could land on President Trump's desk, and it could become the first new gun control law in decades.

And, more than likely, it could be obsolete.

Bump fire stocks are made from relatively cheap polymers that can be 3-D printed. Hobbyists have posted videos of their homemade stocks in action, at least one manufacturer has actually built 3-D-printed prototypes, and the digital blueprints are already floating around online.

While it's illegal to manufacture new machine guns and especially difficult to purchase a fully automatic rifle under federal law, bump stocks provide an easy hack. Like the one found in the possession of the Las Vegas shooter, the accessory is relatively cheap, pretty easy to install, and completely legal for now. But even if made illegal, they won't be difficult to jury-rig.

To make a semi-automatic rifle fire full-auto requires significant skill. A gunsmith must open up the guts of the gun to lathe, mill, and fabricate for the desired effect. A bump fire stock provides a natural workaround, using the blowback from each shot to "bump" against the shooter's shoulder and rock against their finger to achieve a high rate of fire.

Built commercially, the stocks can theoretically be homemade. It's certainly possible and it may already be happening.....

There are certain things you really cannot effectively ban unless you toss everyone into jail.

a rubber band can make Feinstein's bump stock ban obsolete. A dowel rod or highlighter marker used as a "bump stick" also accomplishes the same thing. With enough practice, you can make any semi-auto bump fire just by modifying your shooting technique.

Gotta give it to the liberals, (I include the MSM in that), they’ve managed to change to subject from a nut bag killing people into a gun control issue. Could that be because said nut bag is probably a lib? Removing tin foil hat now.

Basically, they could double-down and say if you used a weapon and murder someone...we just toss you into a pit with a dozen cobra-snakes.

They will attempt to limit magazine capacity again while living in mansions and riding around in 500 hp cars.

Who needs that much power?

Looks like we can safely conclude that Di/Fi and her opportunistic hubby have no financial interest in gun mfg. DiFi and her hubby know plenty about using her senior Govt status and her influence to steer business and profits to enrich themselves.

Let's hope an empaneled Grand Jury w/ subpoena power is not investigating things like how her husband's investment group managed to obtain several Billion dollars taxpayer-funded govt contracts .....

BACKSTORY: Back in Sept 2014, Senate intel head Di/Fi was whining about the CIA looking through her computers and taking documents. Clearly, the CIA had plenty on her----even BEFORE the shocking Chi/Com missile scandal brke involving a Cali state Senator.

Di/Fi's known aversion to guns did not prevent her from honoring Sen Leland Lee's co-defendant, Raymond Chow---Chow is the key figure in Cali's Demorat state Sen Yee's shocking missile-sales deal w/ China (Yee is a notorious grabber of American guns).

INCONVENIENT FACTOIDS: Feinstein heads the Senate Intel Committee; Her hubby Richard Blum made million as the lawyer for Chinese interests and from tax-funded govt contracts;

<><> Did Di use her access to potentially valuable US security data improperly?

<><> How'd her hubby Richard Blum make millions in China deals?.

<><> Is hubby cutting new deals w/ the Chi/Coms?

LIFE CAN BE BEAUTIFUL IN THE FEDERAL SECTOR ---Di/Fi and husband profit for 15 years from federal funds
NY Post | 1/19/15 | Richard Johnson / FR Posted by Libloather

A report on the lucrative deal Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s husband has to sell 56 post office buildings barely scratched the surface of Di's conflicts of interest. The California Democrat’s financier husband, Richard C. Blum, is estimated to be a billionaire from his shrewd investments in companies that profit from federal policies.

“For at least 15 years, Feinstein has appeared to support government contracts that push federal funds toward companies co-owned or governed by her powerful, billionaire husband, Richard C. Blum,” Breitbart News reported. (Excerpt) Read more at pagesix.com ...

THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS---Sponsored by Senator Diane Feinstein, the Desert Wilderness Protection Act and its companion bill known as the California Desert Protection Act created three new national parks and seventy- four new wilderness areas in the desert of California that total 8 million acres (an area the size of Maryland).

This closes acreage to development, forces out private owners within the protected area and closes mines and ranches. It also expands the Death Valley and Joshua Tree national monuments and upgrades them to national parks.

It seems that the real motivation for passage of this bill lies with the special interest groups that would benefit monetarily. Through a complex series of land exchanges, Catellus Corporation (Owned by none other than Richard Blum DiFI Hubby), a subsidiary of Santa Fe Pacific, will receive land that contains some of the richest gold deposits in the world.

I wants me one of them thar little gizmos to go on mah lever action rifles that turns them almost into machine guns!

THE RIFLEMAN had one and every time he used it his lever action rifle sounded like a machine gun!

Now I think of it, he burned up LOTS of ammo, yet never hit anyone while using it.

Get ready for every liberal in Congress to add to this bill their own personal “wish list” of anti-gun dreams and schemes they have been coming up with for the last sixty years.

I still remember when they ONLY wanted to register handguns, not take them away. Rifles would not be included! Two years later rifles were included in the schemes.

Stay diligent, the law is the law an common sense is common sense.

The same people that wring their hands over guns think nothing of strapping little babys over 25 ga of gasoline and rolling 70 MPH down the road with a million other chuckleheads.

Stunning to me is I orked in the defense industry all mylife an it was forbidden to have cameras, radios and te like in defense industrys.

Then one day any asshole woul be walking around in the SCIF because the guy in charge of security LOVED his IPhone

I Raised hell

Youll never believe this.. The first response was you cant walk around in the SCIF with a Smartphone, you must secure it a in a phone caddy.

Where was the smartphone caddy? On the side of a Secret safe in the GD SCIF!

Lord people are bone stupid

That’s the goal.

There is no way to rule freemen.

You have to have so many laws that they may not be observed so that Everyman becomes a criminal

In the cowboy days of single action revolvers they wired the trigger back and all you had to do was slap the hammer back to get off a shot

Tim Conway once said they developed a rock for the Parma Army
You’d throw it and hit the guy in the head and yell POW!

But the enemy figured out all this deadly pow stuff and developed countermeasures to avoid casualtys

Undeterred Parma’s army developed a NEW rock to throw and they yelled Snarf! Thus thwarting the countermeasures.

Tim tells it better than me :)
