Connecticut's New Gun Grab Law Tramples 2nd Amendment Rights

Connecticut has a new anti-gun law. Governor Dannel Malloy signed the law that makes it illegal for any person subject to a temporary restraining order ("TRO") to possess a firearm of any sort. People subject to a temporary restraining order must surrender all firearms to the police within 24 hours or face jail time. The new law deprives citizens who have been convicted of no crime of their Constitutional rights without due process...

Boy howdy! This new rule is RIPE for abuse once this news hits the streets.
People will be fabricating stuff left and right to get their boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives all jammed-up with the police.

So a person in which you have strong disagreement with could maliciously file a restraining order against you, because they “feared” they were in danger from you.
Is that how a temporary restraining order can be filed, ie, based on how “threatened” you “feel” by someone?
No evidence required, ie: witness to the threat, police report, etc?

I could see this being used maliciously against boyfriends, husbands, and political gadflys / watchdogs.

I had a CT restraining order on me from a golf course and restaurant.

When I was a kid, they pissed me off so I did donuts on the course.

It counts.

Its unconstitutional for it takes away a person’s right of self-defense without judicial remedy.

At least a court should determine whether you’re a danger to yourself or others before your 2nd Amendment right is taken away.

Ironically, Connecticut was called, The Constitution state...
CT lost legitimacy to that moniker decades ago.

If you really, really look at it, we don't have any constitutional rights any more. They are still written down on paper but if you don't have the money to protect your rights...you don't have any rights...PERIOD!

Between the “back room deals” politicians and members of the legal profession made over the past 100 years, it's become a “pay to play” system. No matter what, the politicians still get elected by “keeping you safe” and the legal vultures get rich by “protecting your rights” or by directly filing lawsuits.

Now, the stupid populace has been so conditioned that they freely want the government to protect us by eliminating the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights!

Each year that goes by and each year the “new” generation is “programmed” by our educational and entertainment elites, we become even closer to that elimination and consequential enslavement of all who used to be free and independent.

November of 2016 will go down in world history as one of two things: The fall of America or the reestablishment of independence and freedom for America.

Abusers could easily use this law to further abuse a victim. So you’re a staler D-bag, but you know your victim owns a gun, so you don’t stalk her. File a restraining order, watch her get her means of protection stripped, and do your bad thing. It’s really that simple.

Stupid law from stupid people.

"...No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

Your response is correct, if we were still Governed according to Constitutional directives. However, in 2008, a majority of those that voted said, via their votes, that they wanted a muslim to have the rule over them. In 2012 they reaffirmed their choice. As a result of this, the muslim occupying the White House has turned the Constitution into toilet paper. And no one in the Congress gives a tinker's damn. Thus, everyone in a position or positions of authority, as long as their actions suit obama can do as they damn well please.
