Pretty good interview that presents a plausible point of view.
Never heard of RBN Energy.
Production falls of course
Oil recovers to 50 to 60
Shale becomes attractive again and production goes up
Oversupply
Price goes down
Wash, rinse and repeat
Saudi is really powerless to influence the picture and he thinks they may actually be in trouble and need to hunker down against bad times
Shale production spreads throughout the world and the cycle continues [my take, shale is everywhere]
Oil hovers in the 60 range in real dollars for quite some time with spurts of much lower price.
The thesis is that shale is making the oil business new again.
“The Greatest Gamblers” describes the early days of the oil industry and a similar short frequency boom bust era with new supplies being brought on at will and crashing the price. If you want to see a 1940 movie of a similar tail watch Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable called “Boom Town”. It is basically the story of a couple of real world wild catters called Benedum and Trees.
Jacki’s show is awesome, go to her SoundCloud page, check out her guests, I thought she was just a blog talk radio at first, then I saw her guest list, she is one smart cookie and on her way up :)
