OREGON STANDOFF: POLITICS SEEMS LAME, ANALYSIS OF TRAGIC DEVELOPMENTS
1/29/2016 | Self

Posted on 01/29/2016 12:18:26 AM PST by Nextrush

"Why is this not in breaking news? All the BN sidebars stories are about TRUMP except for 1. I understand he's headline news and but should boot all the REAL issues to make room every time Trump farts?"

Post to me from "DrewsMum" on FR 1/28/2016

"Grant County Commissioner Boyd Britton said he planned to attend tonight's meeting 'with an open mind' but said he didn't know who would be there or what it would be about. He wouldn't speculate about whether the Bundys or other militants would be there.

'I'm trying to think positive about this whole thing,' Britton said. He said the county has 'a good relationship with our federal partners.' The situation in Grant County has improved substantially in recent years thanks to efforts in Washington D.C. by Republican Rep. Greg Walden and Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden, he said.

'The difference between now and 2010 is dramatic,' Britton said, adding that there has been a threefold increase in timber harvests.

Portion of an "Oregon Live" story published 1/26/2016 about the meeting protest leaders were headed to when they were shot at and arrested, with one dead and one injured slightly.

The politicians will take care of everything, won’t they.

Donald will save us, Ted will save us etc. etc.

I do support Cruz, feel no need to hate Trump but would expect both of them to take tough and decisive action on matters ranging from our national debt to matters like land use in the West mentioned here.

Talk is pretty blankin cheap at this point.

The Uniparty politicians in Oregon like Republican Greg Walden (a Paul Ryan supporter) or Democrat Ron Wyden are giving Oregonians scraps from the table with some lumber production in this one county.

We have a dead person here in this fight over the land and federal control over it, a martyr if you will. The Hammonds are still unjustly in prison in the eyes of many people.

Frankly, I was surprised to read that the Hammonds had been charged under terrorism laws. Burning off relatively small areas of pasture is an old way to control noxious weeds and keep rangeland vigorous. The Indians used the technique to renew rangeland and bring the buffalo in to better browse (for better buffalo hunting), among other things. Attempting to close county roads to deny the Hammonds access to their land or allotments was just wrong, too.

And the Federal Government has more than enough land without pursuing the removal of even more land from production or private ownership.

Ted Cruz Calls for Oregon Armed Protesters to ‘Stand Down’

“Every one of us has a constitutional right to protest, to speak our minds,” Cruz told reporters in Iowa. “But we don’t have a constitutional right to use force and violence and to threaten force and violence against others. So it is our hope that the protesters there will stand down peaceably, that there will not be a violent confrontation.”

“You’ve got to follow the law. You cannot be lawless,” Rubio told KBUR in an interview highlighted by Buzzfeed. “We live in a republic. There are ways to change the laws of this country and the policies. And if we get frustrated with it, that’s why we have elections, that’s why we have people we can hold accountable.”

When was the last time anyone in government was ever held accountable? Holder, Lerner, Hillary? Anyone?
Is there any doubt in anyone's mind, why the POSs in government are HATED? These ass holes don't want citizens. They want subjects.

Not so much accountable as bank-accountable, in the case of Hitlery.

I think there’s a lot of obsession with politics being the only means of changing the world.

We get this sports bar trash talking debate with each of the Uniparties demonizing the other so we vote for the ‘right’ party. The Democrats are trashed to make Republicans a palatable choice every election cycle.

This political noise distracts us from the ever increasing national debt that Barack Obama, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have set on course to top 20 trillion dollars by 2017.

It distracts us from the matters going on in Oregon, the injustice of it all, our desire to live in comfort and ease.

I know the Democrats are 100 percent bad but the GOP is 95 percent bad. Only five percent of the elected Republicans are real conservatives. Some 236 House Republicans voted in support of Paul Ryan for Speaker including Greg Walden of Oregon, who represents the area where all this is happening.

A sober sane third party like Nigel Farage’s UKIP would be welcome in this country if I had my way.

And I also open to means beyond politics, keeping in mind the politicians don’t like it.

I watched the Operation Rescue protests at the abortion clinics 25 or more years ago and the disdain of the Republican Party front people who called themselves “Pro-Life” for that.

John F. Kennedy sent the FBI after Martin Luther King with all the audio spying on his sexual encounters resulting out of his fear of a movement beyond the control of the Democratic Party that threatened to split it apart.

The white backlash started in the South in 1964 and spread benefiting Republicans in elections outside the South beginning in 1966.

I don’t think the GOP political machine likes what’s going on in Oregon right now as well. The Democrat Left clearly escalated with the FBI’s deadly action this week and the GOP needs to contain the anger so it doesn’t boil over.

Nonviolence would be a good answer to the FBI but it would take a large group of people unarmed to approach those roadblocks in Harney County near the refuge.

Make the FBI play Bull Connor.....its easy for me to think out loud, but I think of something that could kill or injure others.

The FBI escalated to violence, it would be good if patriots de-escalated to nonviolence.

And if the GOP doesn’t like that or won’t support it, who cares, they are almost all liberals or fake conservatives.

‘I think there’s a lot of obsession with politics being the only means of changing the world.’

That’s twisting it backwards — our nation is SCREWED UP by career politicians. It’s the largest embezzlement scam in history — probably swallows up the rest of the world’s corruption and gulps it down.

You are referring to patriotism as an ‘obsession’.

I get miserable if I stay here too long. I need long periods of time away from this forum. But I come back because I care.

Sure, write off all the psychic energy we invest here as an ‘obsession’.

But this forum does a LOT more for the USA than all the militias combined. We even help inform them.

Maybe one day if we utterly fail with this ‘obsession’, we might desperately need militias. But only if attitudes like yours prevail here.

I do my political obligation and vote and I also support non-RINO politicians with money like Ted Cruz right now.

But I don’t live in a delusion that all the Republicans need my vote.

No votes for all RINO’s is my bottom line. None whatsoever.

I won t vote for Dems either but will write in names or vote a third party option.

And like I said before we need some other options on the table besides D’s and R’s ranging from a third party to actions like those of Dr. Martin Luther King in the 1950’s and 60’s, Pastor Everett Sileven Ramsey in Nebraska in the early 80’s and Operation Rescue either side of 1990.

They removed this from “Extended News” as a topic since I posted it. Since it was a personal post I did not use “Breaking News” or “Front Page News”.

God bless you for caring about the USA.

Just, please try not to insult political research as an ‘obsession’. All I’m asking.

At least some researchers here deserve respect. Maybe even most.

'I think there's a lot of obsession with politics being the only means of changing the world.'

There's a better answer: This nation was supposed to be about "SELF-government." What the hell does he think that looks like?

This nation was supposed to be about “SELF-government.”

Amen to that!

And the political process is supposed to end tyranny long before we draw guns. So far we have been betrayed. But militias should at least wait until after this election — at the VERY least for crying out loud! A primary like this and they take up arms?
