(Vanity) Cancer, but contained

Looks like I may have been blessed. Had my surgery the 28th, and am recovering fine. Went to the surgeon today for follow-up, but it included the biospy results, which they only got yesterday!

It was a cancerous tumor, but apparently even in 30 lymph nodes they took, not evidence of cancer. Thank God! I think He sent me to the ER that day to ensure it did NOT get even bigger (~5"x3"x"3) and spread! No way otherwise to know this thing was there!

Oncology appt on Monday, but hopefully she will interpret it the same basic way as the surgeon and this will all be over. I guess there is still a chance she will assign me some chemo "just in case".

That is good news, and I hope that your recovery is swift and complete. There is a bright side of sorts to cancer: you may be less likely to get Alzheimer’s, other forms of mental decline, and to suffer from the diseases of aging. It seems that a tendency toward cancer is associated to a degree with a greater capacity for healing and better aging.

Great! It is survivable. I had Her2 breast cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes. Took cancer and all the lymph nodes out followed by chemo and finally radiation. Doc calls me his success story.
Super happy that maybe you won’t have to go through it all. Good luck.
