You aren’t missing anything. Just another condescending liberal talking about how white liberals can better trick black folks into supporting them against their best interests and beliefs.
I had a real black pastor explain that white folks treat church like its God’s funeral and black folks treat it like God’s birthday party.
I would say there is some truth to that, even if it’s incomplete. To most blacks, going to church is their highlight of the week. Many whites do treat going to church as if it’s an interruption to their week.
I had a hard enough time understanding the title, much less the first paragraph.
That is certainly true some places. I’ve been to a black Baptist church a few times and it was one of the most welcoming experiences. I don’t think I ever got more hugs.
Two strikes against her right off the bat ... female preacher and lesbian. Seems she is batting 666 in the scheme of things, so to speak.
All the merrymaking can really brown off (no pun intended, heh heh) more sedate Christians but yeah. In general the more honest praise in the service the more powerful it is going to be. So often, honest praise is blasphemed by the sedate Christians. It shouldn’t be!

It was part of his explanation why blacks and whites have self segregated beginning in the churches and it carries over into the rest of life. He says that he believes the sense of community begins in church and points out that the word “community” comes from Commune as in communion.
When it comes right down to it, nobody wants a neighbor they wouldn’t feel comfortable going to church with.
Yeah when I went to my friend’s church I’ve never felt more welcome. Somebody could steal the pews out of that church and that congregation would barely notice.
My God, you need a program to keep up with these wack-jobs.
