In case youre still shocked by the prosecutorial malfeasance in this country - most recently on display in Sanford, Florida perhaps I can help. It is partially related to our dwindling interest in Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Today were focusing on the truth part; apparently were to take it with a grain of salt from now on.
In order to continue we must concede to this basic truth: your government lies to you. Shocking, I know, butt true. They dont lie with maliciousness, or at least they never use to; they just thought they knew what was best for us. They still do think they know better than us - butt Im no longer comfortable addressing the with malice part.
As proof of the ongoing campaign of lies I submit this recent revelation: after years of harping at us, the truth about salt has finally been revealed. As it turns out, salt is NOT bad for you!
In fact, its too little salt that could kill you. Sacré bleu!? Aside from real scientists and skeptics who could have seen that coming?
The scientific question is whether this temporary phenomenon translates to chronic problems: if we eat too much salt for years, does it raise our blood pressure, cause hypertension, then strokes, and then kill us prematurely? The answer is no.

Please, turn on the lights and pass the salt...

Salt - It's Good Fro You
It it weren't for bad science, we'd have no science at all.
That will never happen. The tort would destroy most of the pharma industry.
BINGO!
And what is the chance that they end the requirement to measure and label products with the Sodium content?
I can answer that. There is no chance that will happen.
Did you catch this on Rush yesterday?

I happen to believe red meat is also good for you in moderation. The latest lameness out said that it removes years from your life every time you eat it.
I remember when eggs were evil.
My poor stepdad does flips over every new food banning trend. His doctor put him on ‘low fat’ diet, I kept trying to explain he could eat nuts even if high in fat because it was high in GOOD fat. These doctors need to explain the difference to their patients.
Most of the time the ‘researchers’ and the media get it 100% completely backwards. The correlations are there, but the cause/effect analysis is wrong.
Also, they say they control for all variables, but they can’t and don’t. They don’t know all the variables. Something may be a variable but they have excluded it.
Like the stuff about Siberians living longer because of yogurt. Obviously had nothing to do with the yogurt but everything to do with the cold climate. The ‘researchers’ are too stupid to see that the climate is a big influence on health.
“The whole aim of practical politics (and the media) is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

There's Good Salt and Bad Salt...Know The Difference!
Many experts argue that salt could be just what we need for healing, health and longevity. Modern salt, they agree, is unhealthy. But common table salt has almost nothing in common with traditional salt, say the salt connoisseurs. Just look at the rose-coloured crystals of Himalayan rock salt, or the grey texture of Celtic salt -- both pride themselves on traditional harvesting, avoiding heat treatment or refining methods -- and you know you're getting something special, not least that when you taste them, they actually have flavour. And unlike the sodium chloride you find on most kitchen tables, unrefined rock salt contains more than 84 different minerals.
We've had only Himalayan Salt for our family for probably a decade. The stuff rocks! (I even carry a small bottle in my purse.) http://products.mercola.com/himalayan-salt/
I have come to the conclusion that the media is funding all of these studies so that every news broadcast they can tell you about some “study”. Every stinking day they are pimping some ridiculous study. Most of the time, there are no sources or sample data. Then every stupid American talks about the new “study” the next day to make themselves feel really smart. “Did you hear about the study on studies?” Then the next month there’s another “study” that refutes that “study. We are all a bunch of brain dead drones.
It’s coming!
I so hope this is true about salt. One of my sons is about to be very happy, after dealing with my salt-free cooking for years.
