Heard him say it. He warned his listeners to not be surprised when Petraeus restates before Congress that the 'the video caused the riots.' I guess we'll see. If Rush is right, we have to wonder what threats Petraeus has received and from whom.
A truly superb Army career and now it's come to this.
He might say that both, the movie and an independent pre-plan were at bottom of the successful raid against the US at Benghazi; but he is not going to admit that the "movie" justification was made up. He is also not going to testify that he was told what to say, or that he was pressured (or felt pressure) with an unspoken threat to disclose his affair with Broadwell.
He's part of the problem. Has been from the start.
There were no protests in Benghazi, that has been admitted
I guess when the mob becomes the president, this is true.

I think that's the case, too.
His military missions were essentially nation building, and success on that front does not mean nation building on US terms. The best chance at success in the middle east is to "adopt" middle eastern mores for the task at hand - "when in Rome" and all that. Realpolitik.
I believe Rush is right.
Or
Realize you are in a fight, the enemy has played dirty, either way you are a gonner and go out in a blaze of fire.
If he has any integrity, he will come clean. Actually, that is his best way out. It aint a good way out.
Part of what Rush is basing his position on is that Petraeus
has already aped the administration tale about the nasty
video causing a riot which led to the attack. To change that
would make him out a liar. Limbaugh is likely correct. As far
as Petraeus goes the under the bus toss happens down the
road if at all.
Yeppers. He still has much to lose. So much for Honor and Truth.
Betrayus will prefer to be laughed at vs keeping his life, his pension, his wife’s job and most importantly staying out of jail.
Who said what in that diaolog you posted?
Heard an interesting speculative analysis the other day that basically says this is the culmination of a 20 year fight between the Civilians and the Military inside the US Govt.
It involves Libya, deeply, but it isn’t ABOUT Libya in whole.
I suspect we know so little about what is really going on, it is impossible to really make an intelligent conclusion about much of anything.
And this part should stand out:
And through all this welter of change and development, your mission remains fixed, determined, inviolable: it is to win our wars.Everything else in your professional career is but corollary to this vital dedication. All other public purposes, all other public projects, all other public needs, great or small, will find others for their accomplishment. But you are the ones who are trained to fight. Yours is the profession of arms, the will to win, the sure knowledge that in war there is no substitute for victory; that if you lose, the nation will be destroyed; that the very obsession of your public service must be: Duty, Honor, Country.
Others will debate the controversial issues, national and international, which divide men's minds; but serene, calm, aloof, you stand as the Nation's war-guardian, as its lifeguard from the raging tides of international conflict, as its gladiator in the arena of battle. For a century and a half you have defended, guarded, and protected its hallowed traditions of liberty and freedom, of right and justice.
Let civilian voices argue the merits or demerits of our processes of government; whether our strength is being sapped by deficit financing, indulged in too long, by federal paternalism grown too mighty, by power groups grown too arrogant, by politics grown too corrupt, by crime grown too rampant, by morals grown too low, by taxes grown too high, by extremists grown too violent; whether our personal liberties are as thorough and complete as they should be. These great national problems are not for your professional participation or military solution. Your guidepost stands out like a ten-fold beacon in the night: Duty, Honor, Country.
“he comes out fighting”
Or maybe he meekly corroborates everything the Obamamites have been saying.
For all we know they may have something else on him, e.g. maybe a dead girl they’re ready to use, a frame they’ve made; or they may have simply threatened his life if he doesn’t toe-the-line. He’s been working with guys who do that sort of thing, who issue and carry out such orders.
Yes, Americans don’t much cotton to presidents who leave their fellow Americans to die a lingering, painful at the hands of foreign savages. That’s what makes this so sordid and this could have brought Zero down.
But it isn’t enough that he suffers embarrassment and shame—`No fool like an old fool, right?—then confesses and resigns. The sad fact of the matter is that the Director wasn’t a team player and an example has to be made right out the gate of what are going to be a very long four years.
Totalitarians require a show-trial and self-abasement so that he isn’t seen as a hero. He must learn to love Big Brother. `Thoughtcrime does not entail death. Thoughtcrime is death.’ And, “Under the spreading chestnut tree, I sold you and you sold me.”
Like eight days ago, you are making the mistake of thinking that your fellow Americans are wise, that the power elite in side the Beltway are just and that life is fair. If you’re thinking Jimmy Stewart is going to make an appearance and fight and filibuster the entrenched dark powers running the Capitol, I’m sorry to have to say that IMHO, I see no happy ending here.
Petraeus can try save his soul or his a$$ - at least that’s most likely to be on his mind. Hopefully he’s not stupid enough to believe the Zero folks will stand by any agreement and will realize his a$$ is already fried. Then he can try for his soul and try to take them down with him.
Petreaus is above all a political animal. It has been proven with his insane ROE in Afghanistan.
He will speak of his position evolving after reviewing the so called facts on the ground in Libya. He will weave some story to protect the President.
Be prepared to be disappointed.
He was no doubt told “Resign, or lose your Rank, face Court-Martial, and/or lose your pension”....easy pickin’s.
Plus Rush knows how inept the house is.
How can one be confident about the hearings, when these same GOP
house members think Bonehead is the right man for the Speaker?
