The Cornered Rats of Climate Change
Townhall.com ^ | May 1, 2012 | Marita Noon

Posted on 05/01/2012 6:52:59 PM PDT by Rocky

Public confidence in scientific “consensus” regarding the theory of manmade climate change is threatening the believing scientists’ confidence. While polls show that taking action to fight climate change is off the radar of most Americans, the behavior of the theory’s advocates is even more telling. They are behaving like "cornered rats"—taking extreme actions to protect their turf.

How pathetic is that?

It’s their religion, and they will cling to it no matter how stupid it is.

I think the Climate Change funding stream has seen it’s day. The money is still there but it is going to be going to study “Sustainable Development” whatever that is.

I did finally concede that the existence of human development on earth and the use of energy must contribute to some heat gain on the planet. We do put off a certain number of BTUs per body. Machines do produce heat and we use the atmosphere in radiators and such to exchange the heat and cool things.

BUT, I also said, in the same way we contribute to the lowering of sea levels in the ocean, or the rise of such depending on whether we are in the ocean (displacement) or walking out of the ocean drenched in its water (withdrawl).

Still, either way, the significance of our impact is not measureable and not worthy of any credence. Our contribution to the warming of our planet falls in the same category.

For all of these sick animals it’s strictly about the money - - “grant” money for the scumbag scientists, “energy taxes” for the scumbag politicians, and “carbon trading” windfall for the politicians’ connected scumbag friends. Not one of them gives a rat’s ass about “global warming” or the environment or anything else. It’s about the money. It’s always about the money.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed
(and hence clamorous to be led to safety)
by menacing it with an endless series
of hobgoblins,
all of them imaginary.

Eisenhower's farewell address (1961) warned about more than the "Military-Industrial Complex." His message was not anti-military, although the DC elites would like us to believe just that. Instead, Eisenhower warns of the corruption of science of science and the military from government money, which is the tool of sleazy politicians.

Eisenhower: Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers. The prospect of domination of the nation's scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present -- and is gravely to be regarded.

The money is still there but it is going to be going to study “Sustainable Development” whatever that is.

Yes, that's the new buzz word. Sustainability, to some, means that we don't rely upon non-renewable resources. But there are also people, especially in Europe, saying that you cannot have true sustainability as long as some people have more than others.

Thus, it is the next big campaign by the Left to level wealth, to increase government control and centralization, and to head towards Orwell's 1984.

I hope Romney is getting educated on this whole sordid AGW affair. If he does win the election, he must step back from his previous views.

I doubt he will disown it before the elections...

Might offend those in the mushy middle....and the pundits say they will decide this election.

And four States,...Fla, Ohio, VA and North Carolina.

According to the pollster on Varney and Company this morning.

Don't remember his name.
