Country Founded by Armed Religious Nutjobs Celebrates Anniversary

A country founded on the belief that human rights are derived from God is now somehow miraculously celebrating its 235th birthday. That same country was started with the belief that when the people are deprived of their God given rights they have the right to abolish that government.

The Declaration of Independence says it all pretty clearly right away:

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
Amazing.

Who'd a thunk that a bunch of bitter folks clinging to their guns and religion would make such a great country which, for all of it's problems is still somehow a light in a very dark world.

Kinda' weird too that the country seems bent on eradicating religion and the right to defend oneself. Many in America have somehow come to the erroneous conclusion over the past few decades that true freedom can only occur with the eradication of religion while the truth is that our entire country is founded on Christian precepts and actually depends upon Christianity to exist.

If it wasn't clear that our government became "destructive to these ends, ..." once LBJ got done, how can anyone not see that our government under Emperor Barry clearly is destructive to these ends? Unfortunately, the time for change with a minimum of pain is past. We're going to either have a very tough fight to turn things around with the government still in place or we're going to have even a tougher time turning things around after the government collapses either under its own weight or due to all sorts of rebellion large and small.

It's heartbreaking, but, if Christians in this country can't stop fighting one another now they're not going to. That rules out those who call themselves Christian joining together and relying on what we really should rely on, prayer and the grace of Christ. Meanwhile, having succeeded in fostering divisions among Christians, our opponents cooperate in all things large and small planning to argue with and murder one another once it's time to divide the spoils. Apparently Satan is more capable of maintaining discipline in the ranks than is the Catholic Church or the thousands of denominations claiming Christ as their King.

LIEberals don't cite or refer to The Bible or The US Constitution. They are their own source of absolute authority in their ever devolving regressive lunatic minds. Bunch of unpatriotic, godless PUKES.....unworthy to live under the wisdom bestowed to us by the founders.

From the headline, I was expecting a New York Times article outlining everything that is wrong with this country (in their opinion).

Now, of course, the average American believes that human rights are derived from large voting blocks, and God just gets in the way.

Times have certainly changed.
