No Forgiveness for John Edwards
The National Enquirer reports that when John Edwards realized that the end was near he begged his betrayed wife for forgiveness, but Elizabeth refused to relent.
On her deathbed, a hurt, angry Elizabeth screamed at John, saying You ruined my life Ill NEVER forgive you!
Reports say that John Edwards repeatedly broke down in tears, and actually doubled over with grief at Elizabeths bedside. But she showed John no remorse. Nothing he said could change Elizabeths mind.
The only concession Elizabeth was willing to grant her cheating husband was to pray with him that God would give him the strength to protect and raise their two young children, Jack and Emma Claire, after she was gone.
Cutting John Edwards Out of Her Will
Not only did Elizabeth refuse to forgive John as she neared death, she informed John that shed changed her will to cut him off from part of their $53 million fortune if he married his mistress, Rielle Hunter, after she died.
As she lay dying, Elizabeth Edwards also unleashed her anger at Rielle Hunter for destroying her marriage and ruining the bright political future John Edwards had.
According to reports. Elizabeth also had a few choice words for Rielle before she died, screaming to John that Rielle . will 'rot in hell!
A source close to the Edwards family reported that when it finally dawned on John that the end was near for Elizabeth, and that she would never forgive him, he collapsed.
No doubt John realized that the stress of dealing with his infidelity, and the bitterness and rage she felt about his betrayal served to hasten Elizabeth Edwards death.
The animosity Elizabeth harbored for his mistress, Rielle Hunter, was probably a contributing factor , as well.
Elizabeth Edwards' deathbed words will probably haunt John Edwards for the rest of his life.
He had to SLEEP with that! SERIOUS revenge.
Between Elizabeth and Reille, Elizabeth was better looking. What would possess a man to cheat on his wife with a Rod Stewart look alike?
Laughing out loud over that one. I agree. All that money, power and supposed good looks and he ruins his career over Reille Hunter?
Beyond the sex, I think Reille treated him like an object of worship. That's the only explanation I can find.
Yes! She made a big deal about some neighbor who was a Repubican. Again, very offensive; I gotta check out the complete details. Thanks for the memory !
She stayed with him...until the affair has been published by the media....She knew well before then. But once it hit the media, she thought of nothing but herself and how she was going to “play it”.
The both of them deserved each other. While many suggest that “god rest her soul”, I say, god do as you wish with her soul. There is nothing redeeming in either of them.
My money is in a trust I received upon my mother’s death. Upon my death it passes to my husband. If he dies before I do or we die together it goes to our children.
Oh for crying out loud — it’s from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER people! DON’T believe a WORD of it unless there is corroborating evidence SOMEWHERE that’s MORE reliable! Good grief!
I doubt very much he will be haunted for the rest of his life. He will rationalize it all away. I agree with the above post that there are no ‘good’ characters in this entire drama. Elizabeth Edwards knew about the affair, and it seems it was fine until it became public and ruined his (and her) political future. In any case, I would hope that she now rests in peace.
I am a real reverend. I use the term karma as a short version of ‘what goes around comes around’ and no, I’m not into Eastern Religions. What I was saying was Edwards will get his comeuppance ...
I live in NC and inherited money in trust last Jan. When the paperwork was filed I was asked how I wanted it distributed upon my death. I was told I could leave it in trust and either leave it all to my husband or proportion it among my husband and our children or leave it to someone else for example charity.
Mine goes to my husband and if he dies before I do or we die together it will be divided among our children. I was told that I could make some stipulations on the money, but I did not ask about that.
There´s an old cliche about commies....
I would forgive anyone who was sincerely begging for forgiveness.
Especially so if I was on my deathbed.
This is a terribly sad story :-(
MATTHEW 6:15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
You have to forgive no matter what, if you expect to be forgiven...
Wow. I believe that if I am knowingly on my deathbed, I will be thinking of my sins and asking God to forgive me before our meeting.
As previously stated, the National Enquirer broke the Edwards infidelity story. Now a days, you’re better off only believing lame-stream-media stories that are collaborated by the Enquirer.
Ha! A valid point. Touche. :-)
I’m sure this will be brought up later, but her share of the will was 53 million, if she left it to the kids, I’d wager that John gets to have a say in how her share is doled out to the young ones.
Based on personal experience, sometimes it takes time and effort and much prayer to just reach the point of no longrt giving a ...care about those who have wronged you, let alone full forgiveness and reconciliation
We fail to forgive to our own detriment.
I am afraid for her soul. John deserves nothing, but she hurt herself most of all.
