And to you as well mt FRiend :-)
While that’s a nice sentiment, I hold a different view.
I don’t ask god to give her peace, or anything else. For the opposite of love is not hate, it is apathy. And I simply do not care what god does with her soul.
Indeed
Johnny boy should have said to Elizabeth what Gore said to W - “well, you don’t have to get snippy about it.”
I dont ask god to give her peace, or anything else.

I used to think like that. Sometimes still do but to each his own. I pray for understanding.
My thought is that hell is re-living every pain we have ever caused to another, that would be the burning.
I pray everyday that I am forgiven for every slight I’ve given and for every negative emotion or hurt I’ve ever inflicted.
I no longer have much hate (well, except for that rapist who attacked my child, my first ex-husband, the thieves, child molesters, liars, bullies, scoundrels, mean relatives and those who stole my car, identy, and my TV).
Other than that, I pray I can forgive one and all. It’s a long road.
I'm thinking of signing up as the Blogpimp Examiner.
If you click on the link, the story is backed up by links to earlier stories. Plus, the Enquirer was the one who broke John & Reille in the first place.
Karma? Really? I thought that went out in the 80s. Remind me again, is that in Genesis or Exodus?
I have come to the realization that forgiveness is not mine to give. That is the province of the Lord. By apathy towards these individuals does give me peace. By casting their lot to the grace of god leaves me free of caring what happens to them in this life or the next.
I keep reciting the AA Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Good. Spit at him from the grave. Some people deserve just that.
Guy probably has never admitted guilt anyway.
Just an expression that’s hung around. It’s simpler to use/write than saying “what goes around comes around”. As with Edwards, he’ll have his comeuppance (we still using that expression?).
My point was that she is either in God's presence or eternally expelled from His presence, and which outcome she received has nothing at all to do with her final words and actions toward Silky Pony John and everything to do with her response to Jesus when he offered His salvation to her. If she had accepted Him, there was no last-second revocaton of her Salvation based on her actions and words toward John, and if she had rejected Him, her final words and actions toward John did not amplify her consequences.
I think the Scriptural basis for this concept is: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Galations 6:7)
My point and that of several other posters is that the harshness of her final comments to John leads one to suspect that she rejected God's Salvation...and that's a frightening thing to behold.
Pretty much. But sometimes when you’re dealing with non-Christians or borderline Christians using their lingo sometimes help get the point across. I’ve seen lots of turn-off looks when you start quoting Scripture. But yeah, that’s a good comparison.
Yes, but OTOH, Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. (I don't speak in KJV, but that is what I grew up memorizing, so when I quote Scripture it usually is in KJV.)
I did know a man once who typically spoke in KJV English. But his wife usually spoke in the Amplified Version!
True but people have to be receptive. You have to get them to the point where they want to hear.
Now that's funny! LOLROTF...and likely quite true!
