It has been reported that the primary suspect in Thursday's shootings has been in the military for up to 20 years -- and was entirely educated by the military, ending up as a psychiatrist.
Could someone in the military please explain exactly what responsibilities a doctor educated by the military has, in terms of "paying back" his education? In other words, did he HAVE to stay in the military for eight years after 911 if he was so appalled by the way Muslims were treated?
It is bad enough to think this guy joined the military with no attention or apparent awareness that he some day might be required to go into battle. It is worse to think he stayed in the army with the intention of "paying back" the "Muslim aggressors."
An explanation and further discussion is appreciated.
God Bless the families and friends of the fallen. Always.
I’m also curious if he’ll face a court martial — and possible speedy execution. If there’s no court martial, you know something’s up. I heard one talking head spouting off about “federal crimes” tonight on TV. Put my guard up!
A military officer can resign his commision at any time[requires processing time, could be months]. He of course would be required to pay back said education if provided by the Military.
As for enlisted. No matter the years you’ve signed up, your on the hook for a 8 year contreact[Active, and inactive total].
Depending on the residency they choose and other optional training they receive, I think USUHS grads usually incur between 8 and 12 years of obligated service after graduation.
This guy hadn't been in for 20 years. I think he finished undergrad in the late 90's and USUHS in '02.
Thanks for that. Also interested in your opinion as to whether he’ll face court martial.
Can someone please tell me what became of initial reports of two other suspects?
They were detained and released. If they were released it would be apparent they were not complecent.
If he killed any of the civilian Dept. of the Army security personnel he would be looking at an aggravated federal murder charge, the same thing that got McVeigh a death penalty.
There are those among the brotherhood of Veterans who would say that the prospect of being at Levenworth for life is a fate worse than death. This guy will most assuredly get Court Martialed - it will start with an Article 32 investigation and then they’ll do the whole trial - then sentencing. As I recall, it is rare for a person to be executed - and I may be wrong about this, but I don’t think it’s happened since WWII... - BTW, even for Murder. However, given the number of people killed - who knows... Watch the libtard lawyers come crawling out of the walls to defend this pond scum for free though...
The last one was in 1961, for the rape and attempted murder of an 11 year old Austrian girl. There are currently nine military personnel on death row.
If he got a poor proformance report he was done in the Miltary.
Why wait til a court marshal, it seems like they should have killed him now rather than later? If it seems a done deal, why wait, the only reason I can think might be if he were on psych drugs, of course that doesn’t absolve him but it might lead to a few answers and new rules.
