Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Only a RINO would say that

Being in Virginia, a swing state, I have no choice but Romney solely for economic issues. I don’t think there is much comparison in that category even considering RomneyCare.

I agree with everything you say, but I’m still voting against obastard. Mittens sucks. Obastard sucks more. Won’t otherwise contribute to or support mittens.

Hope that doesn’t bring a zot.

I’m hoping Romney and Ryan support and fundraise so vigorously for conservative House and Senate candidates that many conservatives will grudgingly vote for them.
After all, if we have the House we have the key anyway.

And that’s the ONLY thing he can do for conservatives before the election to change minds.
Whatever he may say just isn’t going to make much difference.

I've voted in ten consecutive Presidential elections, every one for which I was legally qualified.I'm proud to say that every single vote I've cast was for a candidate who received at least 100 Electoral votes. Some of those candidates received the *majority* of the Electoral votes, some didn't.Not a single one of the candidates I voted for was,IMO,perfect. Most of them weren't even close. But each one was at least somewhat superior, and most were substantially superior,to their Rat opponent.Being a lifelong Massachusetts resident and understanding Massachusetts politics far,far better than most Freepers,I know that Romney, although quite imperfect, will be at least a somewhat better, and very possibly much better,in his first term than will Osama Obama in his second. As a result,

I'M STILL VOTING FOR ROMNEY!!!

I'm with you Jim.

I like Ryan and if he were on top of the ticket or the running mate of a genuine conservative I would happily support the ticket.

Myth is using Ryan to shore up conservative support, but he will silence Ryan if they win.

As for Mormonism, just wait for the networks to run all sorts of "special reports" about the history of Mormonism and what they believe, these programs will start airing as soon as the nomination is official. As best I can tell, Mormonism is a lot like Scientology, they just don't have movie stars.

Jim Robinson and the core of his followers on Free Republic are becoming the Conservative version of the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA). Polar opposites on political philosophy to be sure, but birds of a feather when it comes pig headed understanding of the path to political power.

The CPUSA is completely irrelevant when it comes to political power, in part because they routinely purged any and all who were not ideologically pure in every way. They drove away many who agreed with their general views of politics and were willing to help them gain political power. They were a complete failure.

But, the Barack Obamas, David Alexrods, and Valarie Jarretts of their world took another course. They stayed true to their core political beliefs, but they worked within our political system to seize control of one of the two political parties in this country that count. They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. They run the country and daily act in defiance of the US Congress and the people. They are in power and they are abusing it as only good communists are wont to do. So, who’s the better communist: the losers of the CPUSA or Obama and his ilk?

Don’t be a loser.

Got a call yesterday from MA. The guy identified himself and asked if I would be willing to contribute $200 to the Romney campaign.

“No ;’#$ing way”, I told him. “I will promise you one thing though, I will hold my nose and vote for your man. I think we are stumbling into another McCain moment where we will have to choose between the lesser of two evils.”

I promised to send him 10% of what he asked. He thanked me and even called me ‘Sir’.

Ryan is only 42. After 2 terms as VP, and with his fiscal remedies having gotten the country back on track, he’ll be a sure bet for POTUS. I hope I live to see it.

So STFU, GTFO and take your fail with you.

By the way, your dry cleaners are complaining about having to pre-soak all of your pants.

“We had/have a primary season. Our people did not come out on top like I or you would have liked. There are only two viable candidates left standing. I will choose Mitt because I don’t want our country to go down the same road a Greece.”

Because the GOPe conspired to get their guy, because the primary system is BS and is designed to prefer moderates, and Mittens had millions of dollars to lie about himself and others all throughout the campaign.

Sorry, but I will not reward Liars with my vote.

No disagreement here JR. I can’t vote for Mitt Rimney any more than I can vote for Barry Obozo.

Ryan will generate the President's budget and submit it to the House for Rubber Stamping. Trust me. That's the way it will be.

No, that's how you want it to be. Romney could and would submit his own budget and there isn't a damned thing that Ryan could say or do about it. I've never understood the emphasis that some place on the vice presidency. The veep carries out the policies of the president, not the other way around.

Hoefling will be getting my vote this November. Everyone else of his quality decided not to run, for whatever reasons, but with TH running, I will not have to leave the voting booth with my head bowed in shame.
