Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Let's look at this in a different light.

If Obama dies, we get President Biden. If Romney dies, we get President Ryan. Historically, this has happened 9 times in 35 administrations.

So, what are we to do to save Ryan's privates?

Honestly, I could care less at this point.

“I agree with you completely. I was shocked to read Mr. Robinson’s very unchristian post and will move on to other conservative websites. I also would like to thank the two moderators who objected to Mr. Robinson’s bigotry.”

UnChristian? Don’t joke with us. It’s one thing to defend Mormonism. It’s another thing to defend Mormonism from a seat of ignorance PURELY for political reasons.

Eat This MittBot! BOOM:

Joh_14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Joh_3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Gal_1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Rev_19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

I guess the entire religion is quite bigoted, ey MittBot? Maybe you should be a Mormon since they are much more tolerant... right?:

“Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the Church of the Lamb of God and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore whoso belongeth not to the church of the lamb of God belongeth to that great church; which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth.” (The Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 14:10)

“Nothing less than a complete apostasy from the Christian religion would warrant the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” (Documentary History of the Church, Introduction, xl)

“I was answered that I must join none of them (Christian Churches), for they were all wrong...that all their creeds were an abomination in His sight” (Joseph Smith History 1:19).

“...orthodox Christian views of God are Pagan rather than Christian.” (Mormon Doctrine of Deity by B.H. Roberts, p.116)

“...the God whom the ‘Christians’ worship is a being of their own creation...” (Apostle Charles W. Penrose, JD 23:243)

“The Christian world, so called, are heathens as to their knowledge of the salvation of God.” (Brigham Young, JD 8:171)

“We may very properly say that the sectarian world do not know anything correctly, so far as pertains to salvation. Ask them where heaven is?- where they are going to when they die?-where Paradise is! -and there is not a priest in the world that can answer your questions. Ask them what kind of a being our Heavenly Father is, and they cannot tell you so much as Balaam’s ass told him. They are more ignorant than children.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:229).

“The Christian world, I discovered, was like the captain and crew of a vessel on the ocean without a compass, and tossed to and fro whithersoever the wind listed to blow them. When the light came to me, I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:73).

“What! Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute best.” (John Taylor, JD 13:225)

“What does the Christian world know about God? Nothing...Why so far as the things of God are concerned, they are the veriest fools; they know neither God nor the things of God.” (John Taylor, JI) 13:225)

“Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p.177)

“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.” (Joseph Smith, DHC 1:6)

“I spoke of the impropriety of turning away from the truth, and going after a people so destitute of righteousness as the Methodists.” (Joseph Smith, DHC 2:319)

“...brother Joseph B. Nobles once told a Methodist priest, after hearing him describe his god, that the god they worshiped was the “Mormon’s” Devil-a being without a body, whereas our God has a body, parts and passions.” (Brigham Young, JD 5:331)

“...brother Heber C. Kimball was beset by a number of Baptist priests who had been attending a conference. He read them all down out of the New Testament....With regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world.” (Brigham Young, JD 8:199).

“The Roman Catholic, Greek, and Protestant church, is the great corrupt, ecclesiastical power, represented by great Babylon....” (Orson Pratt, Orson Pratt, Writings of an Apostle,”Divine Authenticity,” no.6, p.84).

“...all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels.” (The Elders Journal, Joseph Smith Jr., editor, vol.1, no.4, p.60)

“And any person who shall be so wicked as to receive a holy ordinance of the gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent of the unholy and impious act.” (Orson Pratt, OP-WA, “The Kingdom of God,” no.2, p.6)

“...all other churches are entirely destitute of all authority from God; and any person who recieves baptism or the Lord’s supper from their hands will highly offend God, for he looks upon them as the most corrupt people.” (Orson Pratt, The Seer, pg. 255)

“...the great apostate church as the anti-christ...This great antichrist...is the church of the devil.” (Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine p.40)

“Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the “whore of Babylon” whom the lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness.” (Pratt, The Seer, p.255)

“Brother Taylor has just said that the religions of the day were hatched in hell. The eggs were laid in hell, hatched on its borders, and then kicked on to the earth.” (Brigham Young, JD 6:176)

“Evil spirits control much of the so-called religious worship in the world; for instance, the great creeds of Christendom were formulated so as to conform to their whispered promptings.” (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p.246)

“After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christiandom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common orgin. They belong to Babylon.” (George Q. Cannon, Gospel Truth, p.324)

“You may hear the divines of the day extol the character of the Saviour, undertake to exhibit his true character before the people, and give an account of his origin...I have frequently thought of mules, which you know are half horse and half ass, when reflecting upon the representations made by those divines. I have heard sectarian priests undertake to tell the character of the Son of God, and they make him half of one species and half of another, and I could not avoid thinking at once of the mule, which is the most hateful creature that ever was made, I believe. You will excuse me, but I have thus thought many a time” (Journal of Discourses 4:217).

“If you fear Obama, you’ll vote for Romney. If you fear God, you won’t.”

This is exactly what so many Freepers don’t seem to understand. It’s not about purity. No candidate is going to be perfect, but with Romney’s record many of us cannot vote for him, knowing we’ll have to stand before God. If this is what our country has come to, then it deserves either of the two candidates and the out pouring of God’s judgement. Frankly, I expect martial law and suspension of the election, so for me at this point, the arguments are moot. Besides, the votes are being counted in Spain by a Soros company. Crickets from the people and our representatives about that. The fix is in. I’ll still vote, but it won’t be for Romney and down ticket will be conservative. There might be some hope there.

OK, so let me go a little deeper into this, because there is an implication here that I just can’t let stand unchallenged. Please understand I’m not trying to be mean or nasty, but at some point this thing of trying to stamp God’s endorsement on one’s position has to be questioned.

I think we’d both agree that we are ALL going to stand before God someday. The implication here is that God has clearly decided that a vote for Romney is sinful, or some breach of true christian faith, even if that vote is done to try to prevent a greater evil from retaining power. Ma’am, I’m sorry, but you do not know God’s mind enough to make this judgement. If you say it is not an issue of sin or sinfulness in making the choice, then why on earth would I need to answer to God for it any more than I would have to answer for my choice in breakfast cereal? What if Romney truly has had a change of heart on some issues? Doesn’t that raise the whole issue of God holding you responsible for not forgiving and accepting that he’s changed his mind?

Keep in mind, I’m not saying that he has. I personally dont think judgement day for the Christian will really involve politics, but will be more concerned with my relationship with his Son.... but I do that I dont know the man’s heart. He may have changed, or he may be hiding the truth to get elected. I dont know. But, whether you believe him or not, I can fully accept someone saying that Romney’s record may prevent you from voting for him. But that’s enough, you can stop there, thats good enough. I dont agree with the position, but I can respect it. When you take the other step of saying that God would agree with you, or hold you in some contempt (or by extention, anyone else that was a christian and knew Romney’s record) for making a choice in a Presidential election to vote for the lesser evil, you are venturing into what I feel to be dangerous ground, of trying to speak for God. Let me reiterate, I am not making any moral judgement about you for your stance on Romney, and I’m not going to castigate you for choosing not to vote for him. I’m just saying we can have this discussion and give valid reasons for and against without delving into speculation about the postion of the Almighty....and who knows, like God has done many, many times in the past, he may be using an imperfect man to do his perfect will.

Through the blood of Christ.

And holy means to be separated unto God—only one way, through Christ.

“Well Sola- “I refuse to listen”.”

Then Moses, Elijah, and a host of others (especially King Solomon) would call you a fool.

Don’t equate being against Mormonism with being Anti-Semetic. They are not equivalent.

I am not even remotely the “leader” of anti-Mormonism here on FR....even if there was such a person.

And let me be clear. You should be ashamed to evoke the Holocaust as an apologetic to garner support for Romney. That is truly lame. There has been a “Holocaust” of the “unborn” here in America. Both Obama and Romney have helped support the death camps that have carried and are still carrying it out.

Save the country first, by voting for Mittens in November. (Any other immediate objective is pointless if we lose the country.) Then save the party by doing what you can to purge it of its RINOs.

Put another way, with Romney we buy some time. With Obama, I don’t see how we make it to the next election cycle without first experiencing a currency collapse, with all its attendant nastiness — hyperinflation, societal chaos, panic, and public outcries for the government to do something drastic. Which, of course, Obama will be more than happy to do. This is, after all, the Cloward-Piven strategy that was implemented beginning on day one of Obama’s presidency.

I’ll second it!

I hope many will. This doesn't mean I'm happy with the ticket (Romney), but there is no other choice baring a convention shakeup, and we know that won't happen. So...

If I've learned anything in life, nothing is ever what you expect it to be. There are times where you have to go with what is there, unless you accept losing the ranch. This is one of them.

Willard offered us an olive branch, IMO. Do we accept it or be obstinate and say "Ta hell with you!" I, for one, accept it, with reservation, and will watch like an eagle whatever they do. But, I'll be damned if I do nothing (not vote, or vote another - or down - party) to preserve this union.

I have absolutely no problem with Ryan. He's the best of what we could expect (Sorry you West/Palin supporters, I'd love to see it myself but there's no way it was going to happen...that's political reality). I'm surprised and elated that Willard made that choice. Nitpicking the options at this point is counterproductive, and only gives our enemies talking points. Either we win together, or we'll lose together. And I don't want to contemplate that.

The democrats are successful politically because they stand behind one another regardless the issue. Until we learn that political rule, and follow it religiously, we will be in left field when the game's over. You fight, or you lose. I choose to fight. If someone doesn't agree, "Ta hell with you!"

**Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.**

I think Ryan is going to be the “good” mouthpiece for this election cycle.

We need to pray for him.

Who knows, along the way, he might even convert parts of romney’s thinking.

As an evangelical Christian, I have to disagree. Unless Jesus comes down and runs for office as the only sinless man, EVERY election among humans will be a choice between the lesser of evils. I believe Romney is the most viable candidate who will appoint Supreme Court Justices that will protect Freedom of Religion and halt the oppression Christians have been experiencing.

If God can use a donkey, He can certainly use a Mormon.Beautifully stated!

Hoefling will be getting my vote this November. Everyone else of his quality decided not to run, for whatever reasons, but with TH running, I will not have to leave the voting booth with my head bowed in shame.

If the choice in Nov. is between third party candidates who have no chance of winning, Zero the definite Marxist abortionist, and a Mass. pol who was a liberal abortionist and who now claims to be conservative and pro life, I will choose the one who might get elected and who might give us conservatism and life.

Even if the chances of that "might", might be small, it's still greater than Zero.

And I will walk out of the both with my head held high knowing that my vote offered the greatest chance for my children, my country and future generations who would wish to be born.

Yes, so where have the "real christians" gone? 30 years ago the mittster could not have got the GOP nomination. You'all are are barking up the wrong tree at THIS point. Obama and the marxist coup is the enemy at THIS point. You have had plenty of time to get christendom opposed to Romney. Christendom is BROKEN. But since we are not a theocracy, that is a seconday issue now. Removing Obama, the Usurper, and preserving the Republic is job one. Fix christendom if you want a better candidate. I cant stand Romney but Obama is an enemy of the state.

I dont want my children to have to shed blood of their countrymen and this is our last chance to prevent bloodshed.

***JimRob, such invective continues to fan flame wars and damage conservatism. I proposed earlier that you establish a line in the sand for the sake of peace on both sides. A freeper (from either side) who crosses the line should get a warning, then a timeout.

Nothing has changed about my principles, ethics, or my relationship with God but you sure couldn’t tell it from the way I’ve been treated here lately. Why?
***My guess is that JimRob doesn’t want to open another heart-wrenching bugzapper thread. So he allows the RINO squishes to bash conservatives.
If it were me, I’d post a boundary establishing thread that draws the line for both sides. If you have decided for yourself to vote for Romney, that’s your own choice that we disagree with. If you’ve decided to write in a conservative, that is also your own choice. Each Freeper makes their choice and the choice is respected
But if you try to separate conservatives from their conservative beliefs on this conservative website to get them to vote for a librul like Romney, you’re a librul and you’ve crossed the line. Similarly, if you call the Romney voters something like ‘squishes’ or ‘cowards’ or CINOs or ‘libruls’ then you have also crossed the line. Anyone who crosses the line gets one warning, then a timeout.
Seems like a simple way to keep the peace during such a troublesome time that the choice is 2 babykilling libtards.

I called directly to the top for this several months ago, as soon as it became clear that Romney was pulling away with the nomination.
I was told pointedly that there would be absolutely no room on FR for those who thought supporting the GOP nominee was best for America.
Then there was the so-called “truce” that was utterly ill-formed and incoherent and failed to address any of the real issues at hand.
