Are We Just One Big Storm Away Climate Lockdowns?
Issues & Insights ^ | 23 Sep, 2022 | I & I Editorial Board

While we never thought that the coronavirus pandemic was engineered to soften us up for harsher climate lockdowns to come later, we did note that our ruling class was watching our reactions to its repressive rules to see how far it could go the next time. Today we’re alarmed that “the next time” might be here soon.

In November 2020, we said we were afraid that the country was being conditioned to just take whatever is dished out by power-hungry officials, elected and unelected, and were troubled that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, could say “now is the time to do what you’re told” with minimal condemnation and no demands that he be fired.

Nearly two years later, it’s clear that our concerns were justified.

We find the evidence in a Sept. 14 World Economic Forum document topped by the title “‘My Carbon’: An approach for inclusive and sustainable cities.”

The report says there have been “significant developments” over the last five to seven years “on social, environment and technology fronts that could help realize” the goals “for shaping the future towards smart and sustainable cities.”

Example No. 1 was the public response to the pandemic lockdowns.

COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility – A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world. There were numerous examples globally of maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, mass vaccinations and acceptance of contact-tracing applications for public health, which demonstrated the core of individual social responsibility.

Are we misreading the intentions of the World Economic Forum? Unlikely. Read the entire document. It’s impossible to not come away with the stomach-churning feeling that the WEF saw in the pandemic lockdowns a model for climate lockdowns.

Never give it the benefit of the doubt. This is an organization that trains politicians and activists to follow the progressive playbook to remake our world not through cooperation between liberated people but coercion directed by those who wield the power of government.

It has told us we will own nothing and like it, that it’s determined to establish a “fascist economic model” and recalibrate “a whole range of human rights that are playing out online,” including “freedom of speech,” and is working toward eventually tracking our carbon footprints. It aims to push through the self-empowering “Great Reset,” which reminds us far too much of Mao’s “Great Leap Forward” and not just in name only.

The WEF and its soldiers have made a fetish out of “democracy,” but as soon as they can manufacture an “emergency,” such as the ginned-up fears of man-caused global warming, even that goes out the window. The elites who make up the organization’s leadership and its trainees who’ve been spread across the world in positions of influence and power flat-out want us to be their slaves, doing what they tell us when they tell us. End of rights, the end of individuality, one big socialist, global government. The WEF believes not in economic freedom but an economy centrally planned for the entire globe. Another phrase for that is “economic tyranny.” ....

I don’t see any way they can repeat the covid lockdown debacle, shuttering people and businesses on a massive scale.

What I do see is a concerted attempt to control the populace with blackouts and threats of blackouts, smart utilities controls, drying up of fossil fuel supplies, using what the gangsters in DC are calling “the all of government approach” —meaning every regulatory agency pitches in to control the minutiae of private life. Maybe that’s what “lockdown” will mean in the context of the climate hoax.

that is not how they measure success

they measure success by percentage of compliance not results

a percentage will not comply and they will be put down hard

the vast majority will comply

they are pushing 2030 as the point of no return

watch them try “temporary” lockdowns to slow the “warming”

"While we never thought that the coronavirus pandemic was engineered to soften us up for harsher climate lockdowns to come later"

No, that was what I, for one, warned of, by the grace of God.

Compliance with COVID-related mandates is very low right now, and by this time is pretty much confined to people who are mentally ill and/or retarded.

The response of government and business leaders has been to reduce -- not expand -- the restrictions.

By this time next year I expect this country will have government and corporate leaders running around pretending COVID ever existed in the first place.

try this on for size

as they push us towards green energy which is outrageously expensive

so conventional fuels will become expensive thru imposed scarcity

green energy is even more expensive

energy bills will rival your mortgage/rent as largest bill

govt to the rescue

they will subsidize as long as you comply

now everyone is on welfare

if you do not comply you risk your family’s well being with no heating/cooling

they will hold your family’s welfare as hostage to force your compliance

plus there will be draconian penalties for not complying

see how it works?

100%. When I see people walking around in masks I think “there’s a neurotic freak”.

at the height of the pandemic

what was the level of compliance?

90%? 95%? 99%?

certainly a vast majority

It was that, but it was mainly an excuse to get voting by mail so they could get rid of #badorangeman. It worked, but its use is probably pretty limited going forward.

If they try a climate lockdown, everyone on earth should go outside and burn a tire in protest.

I'm not sure what you mean by "compliance."

In the U.S. most people who complied with mandates and lockdowns only did so because there was no perceived downside to it. They were paid not to work, or they loved the idea of working from home.

The first signs of resistance even among formerly compliant people emerged in the fall of 2020 when parents were pushing to get their kids back into school -- or, in my area, where the parents didn't give a damn about school but were adamant about having their kids play school sports.

Some business owners (like me) had our best years ever in 2020 and 2021 -- because we refused to shut down while our competitors were compliant morons.

The bigger question here, though, is this: How many of these people who complied with COVID restrictions during the height of the hysteria (not the 'pandemic') will do it again? I suspect it will be far less than the numbers you posted.

“Was the COVID lockdown a dry-run or perhaps a conditioning exercise?”

Without question, it was. The elites established that the word “emergency” means they can set aside the all constitutions.

I’m this far from calling out randos on it. “You know that doesn’t appreciably increase your safety, and may be a net harm, right?”

Yeah, I briefly glanced at the Emergency Powers Act here in NV when the locks went up. Pretty much allows the governor to do just about anything he wants. Shut down ALL travel, hold/detain for whatever, shut down business, disallow being outside. Pretty ugly scenarios.

It’s not good, at all.

They setting us up for a greater global agenda and that is super bad voodoo.

Very unfortunate for us but maybe, maybe the world’s populace not buying onto this garbage sh*t will come together and nix it. I dunno. Can only hope to be honest.
