Dept. Commerce Census Bureau Requesting Sales Records From Gun Holster Companies?

ABILENE, TX -(Ammoland.com)- Why would the Census Bureau request customer records from American gun holster companies?

That is the question AmmoLand News is asking. Several major holster manufacturers/providers received notices from the Department of Commerce Census Bureau requesting order numbers, product descriptions, and where the items were being shipped. A few holster companies have refused to turn over the requested information to the federal government.

...

The companies worry about the Biden administration using the information to target concealed firearms carriers. Since the Bruen decision, there has been an explosion of people in the former “may issue” states looking to carry firearms. The Bruen decision confirmed that we the people have a right to carry a gun outside the home for self-defense. Using holster data, the government could potentially figure out where people plan on concealing a firearm and match that up against permitting data to determine who will be carrying arms without going through the “proper” channels to carry a gun.

The Democrats are on a course to destroy the middle class and disarm the general population by weaponizing all of the government.

An example is doubling the number of IRS agents to harass our people and eat out their substance.

They think they will be the last to get eaten when the SHTF.

Commerce seems to rarely “fine” anyone, but it is a demand and not a request.

Census Bureau has no enforcement capability. Ignore them.

Now that you have exposed yourself as to what you do, the census bureau will want your customer records. Not too smart a move....

There is NO lawful reason to comply.

Having said that, they can achieve similar results by reviewing credit card records, and they have much more leverage over the banks issuing credit cards.

The good news is that news of the Feds abusing this info will not go unnoticed.

Leaving law abiding citizens forewarned to have their non-holsterable resources at the ready.

Companies like Vedder have a broad offering that is precisely tailored to a gun make and model. Their sales records would make a pretty correct inference about the name, address, firearm manufacturer and model based on the holster order alone. They are custom build-to-order.

Gun owners need to start establishing relationships with those that own a 3D printer or go out and buy one themselves.

This could be a great game.

Have the grandmas in the knitting group buy everyone's holsters online. They'll show up in some 3-letter agency database as the most prolific and very ambidextrous gun owners in a five county area.

Meanwhile, the gangster with his gat jammed in his waistband is invisible to the same 3-letter agency.

Keyword phrase: Dept. Commerce Census Bureau Requesting Sales Records...

Proper response: GFY

And when the deep state weenies send out their fat, coke-guzzling, 50-IQ, affirmative action bureaucrats to demand compliance, states can assert their sovereignty by setting up 200-man SWAT teams on access roads.

...requesting order numbers, product descriptions, and where the items were being shipped.

So where's the "customer information" the article's talking about?

A copy of the survey request, uploaded by Ammoland

https://www.scribd.com/document/582714892/Census-Bureau-Gun-Holsters-Survey-Redacted

It’s not just holsters.

It’s part of the 2022 “Commodity Flow Survey”

https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/cfs/about.html

The Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) is a joint effort by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), U.S. Department of Transportation, and the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Department of Commerce and is required by law. The survey is the primary source of national and state-level data on domestic freight shipments by American businesses. As a shipper-based survey, the CFS collects information on how U.S. establishments transport raw materials and finished goods; the types of commodities shipped by mode of transportation; the value, weight, origin, and destinations of shipments (including exports). The CFS does not include imports or shipments originating in any U.S. territories. Industry coverage includes: Mining, Manufacturing, Wholesale Trade, Select Retail and Services, and some auxiliary establishments (e.g., warehouses) of in-scope, multi-unit, and retail companies.
