The FBI either lied to a federal judge about having video of its secretive 2018 dig for Civil War-era gold, or illegally destroyed the video to prevent a father-son team of treasure hunters from gaining access to it, an attorney for the duo asserted in new legal filings that allege a government cover-up.
The FBI has long insisted its agents recovered nothing of value when they went looking for the fabled gold cache. But Finders Keepers, a treasure-hunting company that led agents to the remote woodland site in Pennsylvania in hopes of getting a finder’s fee, suspect the FBI found tons of gold and made off with it.

Dunno if you saw this update. Lawsuits won’t get these guys very far.
Where is Claude Raines? I want to report that gambling is going on in this establishment.
They didn't have anything to film video with.
There’s an old John Wayne movie (1939, I think) that has to be based on this incident: The Rebs ambushed a Union train, hauled off the gold in a wagon, and it got scattered all over. But ol John found it. And shouldn’t it be the treasury guys looking for it?
Stupid ass treasure hunters can never keep their mouths shut. They deserved losing every penny of it.
Maybe Rio Lobo from 1970?
“Bent on unearthing the two Union traitors who sold gold shipment information to Confederates and caused the death of a dear brother-in-arms, the battle-tested former Union cavalry officer, Colonel Cord McNally, teams up with a pair of ex-Confederates after the Civil War.”

“But Finders Keepers, a treasure-hunting company that led agents to the remote woodland site in Pennsylvania”
One would think that SOME PEOPLE in this country would understand our government, before doing something SO STUPID as the above.
“””But Finders Keepers, a treasure-hunting company that led agents to the remote woodland site in Pennsylvania in hopes of getting a finder’s fee, suspect the FBI found...”””
Sounds to me that the numbskulls at Finders Keepers are now the Losers Weepers for bringing in the FBI.
Also, this whole story does not pass the smell test.
I have been seeing these claims for years.
But I have seen no proof on either side.

Yes, Fibbies are stone walling. Chris Wrey is accountable
“The FBI we all know and love wouldn’t lie, would they?”
According to wipe ass weasel Hannity, 99% are salt of the earth.
Here is a tip.
If you find buried treasure or a galleon filled with Gold...
DON’T TELL ANYONE!
DON’T CLAIM IT ON YOUR TAXES AS INCOME!
Very quietly sell/spend it.
I can not understand why they even contacted the fbi.
If they found it they should have excavated it and kept it.
At least have a good lawyer to keep these government weasels away from you.
Hell, If I found it and there was no way to sell it off here in the US. I would get a big boat and load the damn thing up and sell it in another Country.
what a shock..
The first rule of treasure hunting club is don’t talk about treasure hunting. This duo is learning a hard lesson. If you find a target that is too large to recover on the sneak just let it go and move on. At least the Feds won’t get it.

Thanks dynachrome, but, uh, no. His lips moved. Pretty smart move though, unless the FBI decides the lawyer actually downloaded Ash Biden's diary or somethin'.
The History Channel hit "The Curse of Oak Island" has run for nine seasons, and there's been an attempt at a spinoff looking for (of course) lost Civil War gold in Lake Michigan.
Thanks dynachrome.
Wow, slow week. Gold involved though. The other GGG topics added since the previous digest ping, chrono sort:
