Many people think that "made in china" stands for inferior quality, so let's dig deeper for the causes.
In the five years from 2007 to 2012, a total of 37 bridges collapsed in China, including 13 bridges under construction, which killed 182 people and injured 177, an average of 7.4 "deadly bridges" per year.
In 2008, it was found that many infants were suffering from kidney stones after consuming Sanlu milk powder, which was found to contain melamine and cyanuric acid. According to china’s Ministry of Health, "By the end of December 2008, a cumulative total of 296,000 children with kidney stones caused by consumption of Sanlu milk powder had been reported nationwide, and 52,898 were hospitalized and treated. The Sanlu incident caused an international outcry and 27 countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, and Italy, immediately announced a ban on the import of Chinese dairy products and related products.
Ancient buildings are strong and can last long, but nowadays in China buildings are like tofu. Why?

They increased the Vanadium requirement for Rebar used in construction several years ago, but who knows how closely they check for it.
True.
I hope the bridges don’t keep collapsing, they will need all of the bridges they have for the Chinese people to hang the GD commies from.
Well-stated. CCP is EVIL.
Interesting. Thanks, Pete. Haste makes waste.
“Wait, is it *not* supposed to wobble? I have to tell you, if I’d been told that was frowned upon...”
That bridge collapsed due to poor maintenance and inspection practices.
The accumulation of bird feces basically accelerated the deterioration of the steel members.
I photographed a bridge under construction over the Mekong River in Laos last year. It was being constructed by/for the China Railway System. I was traveling by boat down the river.
It was a very high and very long bridge. The beams were being poured in place, in a way I had never seen before.
What was odd, was that huge cement beams were hanging way out in mid air with no support. It was some sort of pour in place as you go system.
I put the photos of the bridge on Facebook and within 30 minutes the censors deleted them.
It’s no wonder their bridges collapse during construction.
Put that one in the
“Expected that one to happen”
Not the
“ Well, well, well, that wasn’t expected !
Should have expected that.
Sorry, couldna resist. I am probably the 51st to make the bad joke.”
Gotta wonder why FB cared.
C’mon man, life is cheap everywhere — 60million babies cut into bits in America alone is not cheap? Wait after the Biden era comes to its end and then count the victims of unemployment, BLM and Antifa murders, suicide out of despair and the many blessings that always accompany socialism/communism.
The engineers were schooled in new math
I have been wondering if they use the same crap they sell us.
Priceless. You click on the youtube link and a harbor freight tools add pops up.
It was the Communist Chinese Government working with FB.
I’m old enough to remember when “made in Japan” labels automatically meant shoddy, inferior merchandise.
Yup, I was being ironic.
Same here. “Made in Occupied Japan” stuff is around here someplace.
I didn’t have it happen, but that is amusing.
Since that's what they've got in plenty, probably.
Memory-dependent anecdote -- GE had a problem some years ago with clock radios (it would almost have to have been some years ago) and alarm clocks being returned as nonfunctional, and they found them to be counterfeits. They traced the freight back to a plant in southern China which even had a phony GE sign on the side of it.
