JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told a Christian broadcaster she learned her husband was seeking a divorce in an email from his attorney.

The revelation came in an interview released Tuesday with James Dobson, founder of the Family Talk Christian ministry. He said the interview had been conducted previously.

Palin said she received an email June 19 from the attorney, almost three months before Todd Palin filed for divorce on his birthday in September.

She described the filing that came shortly after their 31st wedding anniversary as devastating. “I thought I got shot,” she said.

Palin said they’re going through counseling and their marriage isn’t “over, over.” She said attorneys are “getting rich” off them.

Mine simply said, “I’m not happy.” Twice. Then the boom got lowered.

Note to self: Don’t encourage your wife to lose 65 lbs.

Some people mix up losing a bunch of weight to delusions of their being millions of people who simply think you are irresistible and want to marry you and give you their money.

She got everything in exchange for not selling the house until the youngest moved out and not barring access to them.

Best business deal I ever made. Ever.

Took three years and a year on someone else’s couch but now my career is in overdrive with a girlfriend 9 years younger than me and who is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

She’s lying to her kids about where she goes at night and the house is falling apart.

Part of me feels sorry for her. We do stupid things.

I’ve spent two years of my life in the Middle East getting shot at and blown up, thanks for asking. If only I could’ve come away with the millions Sarah accumulated...

I think you are right. She probably considers all the bucks as rewards for putting up with McCain and the Whack Media.

Serious head injury, Todd Palin is probably not the man he was before this trauma.

Very true. I have a friend whose husband was savagely beaten in a mugging. He had permanent brain damage as a result. The damage caused him to start acting erratically in ways she just couldn't live with (i.e. he developed an obsession with one of her friends who lived halfway across the country and took off to go there and stalk her). They are now divorced. Very sad story and the only people to blame are really those thugs who beat him.

Self-preservation. When it comes to these type of situations the confrontation is just not worth it. It is too easy for a woman to throw out a false accusation. If he broke up with her in person and the situation escalated , all would take would be for him to raise his voice slightly, for her to use that to get a restraining order. Seriously all the women has to do is break a fingernail while in the same room as a man and he can end up in jail.

And for somebody who has lived with someone for decades, you have to assume he has some idea about whether she would take it well or not, and planned accordingly.

You're right. In today's legal climate, the only safe way to tell a woman something she does not want to hear, is from a distance and in writing, with a bcc to his lawyer.

And the old grandfather Todd isn’t getting any hotter.

Donald Trump was 59 when he married then-35 Melania.

A 55 year old man, in good physical condition like Todd, has much better odds of getting a cute new girlfriend than a 50-something woman has of getting anyone.

Sara will find out it’s somebody she knows. Martha Stewart’s husband left her for one of her kitchen staff.

A lot of career women can't accept that men are not impressed by their careers. That when we find somebody we enjoy being intimate with, we don't care if she's a CEO or a waitress.

For some reason, Sarah Palin has always annoyed a lot of freepers. I never understood it. She gave a brilliant speech at the convention which alarmed the media who then set out to destroy her. Many freepers here helped. Of course, she also had her defenders, including my pal KC Lion.

You are running into the usual bitterly divorced guys here, incels, the guys who can’t get a date and fathers whose sons have been hit with alimony payments all because of “a little indiscretion” in the words of one hilarious freeper.

I still admire the beauteous Sarah and wish her all the best. I was always suspicious of Todd - as handsome as he is - because he never once punched out anyone who viciously attacked her.

This is sad because this is not something journalists have business investigating, and it’s also none of our business to learn about.

“...he’s already made plans with somebody else.”

I’d bet the farm on that. Every man I’ve know, my ex included, never left his home unless he had somewhere else easy and convenient to land.

Of course, my divorce was MY idea, and I am happier now than I’ve ever been in my life, but I knew he’d already set up housekeeping with someone else. Sarah (I love her!) can’t be THAT naive. It makes for a good narrative, though.

What’s divorce in Alaska like? I had the duty and privilege of losing half my assets to my particular brand of loser. ;)

You are a wise man.

And let me add, it's the FACT that we don't care that's the worst sin of all.

Yeh all these types of threads are magnets for the lonely hearts club of losers who got passed over in high school by the cheerleaders. 😆

I take part of that back. We have a friend who is divorcing right now, but his wife IS a crazy drunk who never remembers her craziness when she sobers up and won’t get help or admit there’s a problem in the first place.

And he’s not cheating on her. :)

LOL! The manipulative female shaming tactics never change despite the fact that they don’t work either.

I still admire the beauteous Sarah and wish her all the best. I was always suspicious of Todd - as handsome as he is - because he never once punched out anyone who viciously attacked her.

Damn! What an entitled position to take. Defend me and possibly go to jail for me because vagina.

WHEN did this Christian couple stop attending church? When did they stop daily devotions and praying together?

In their busy and pressured world, it would be of great interest and perhaps telling.

I have never know a couple in a Christian Marriage that has faithfully put Christ FIRST on a daily basis, to fail.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

There is something to that. Church was never a big deal for my ex. We went to the church her parents did, which was ELCA, and essentially a cult more than a church.

I chaffed against that and before long I was going to a different church and she wasn’t going at all. Beginning of the end.

Some people have enough character to look their spouse in the eye and ask for a divorce. Apparently Todd Palin isn’t one of them.

I believe Sara......divorce comes as a shock to some.......others have a nagging feeling.

Letting go is hard.

Martha showed up at the airport w/ his favorite cake......still hoping to patch things up, even as the two were flying away together.

As for the cheating ex getting half of your assets.....thank feminazis who got laws changed to make you “equal.”
