A woman headed to Los Angeles International Airport was dragged off a Southwest plane Tuesday night by two police officers after claiming she was deathly allergic to two dogs on board the flight. ...
The kerfuffle was preceded by the woman telling the flight crew that she had a life-threatening allergy to two dogs on the flight, one of which was a service animal, and her demand that they be removed from the flight.
When she could not provide a medical certificate stating she could travel safely, she was asked to leave.
...
As the officers removed the unidentified woman, Dumas said she kept saying she was just trying to get to her fathers surgery.
...
The flight went on to LAX and arrived on schedule.

Yep! I'm heading out to see my son at WIU this weekend, one of the girls on the other side of the floor he lives on has a Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig as an "emotional support animal" -- I'm sorry but what a crock!
She happened to go to high school with my son and I know who she is. Her family lives in the same subdivision as I do. The girl's a spoiled rotten brat. She doesn't need an "emotional support animal" ... she needs her arse kicked to grow up.
I also just read Illinois' Service Animal law/guidelines and as stated elsewhere on this thread by someone else, there is no certification, permit required, limitations of any kind, nor can a store owner even ask for ID for the dog as a service dog or ask what the disability is that the service dog "supports."
In fact, according to the information on the information on the Illinois Attorney General's Website it's a violation of the ADA to even ASK!
Talk about a "system" that's rife for abuse.
Yeah, but I think pet dogs are allowed as long as they can go under the seat.
We fly a lot and every flight has at least one or more dogs and cats. One seemingly healthy middle aged couple brought their golden retriever on board and that dog displaced the passenger in the seat next to them. He had paid for an extra leg room seat and the flight attendant asked him to move so the dog could have more room to stretch out. He was very obliging but I wondered what would have happened if he had refused to move. On another flight ,out of Los Angeles, a woman sitting net to me,in the terminal, was bringing her little dog on board because she said it calmed her down when she petted him.
Well if you ever see my dogs you can not assume that! One of my dogs probably needs his own service dog because he is scared of everything.. air, sunshine, the dark, the cat, horseflies, etc.
The other dog, a short fat one, hates any dogs smaller than her.
Your dog may be related to mine! She’s a little rescue and is scared to death of...everything. Shaking is her form of exercise.
Oh, no!!! That’s crazy. No wonder these college kids are all spoiled idiots.
>That said, I am getting rather irritated at people dragging their dogs everywhere. Leave the dogs home! They dont belong in stores, in restaurants, in crowds, on planes, etc.<
I agree 100%
it seems our laws put the burden on the ones affected, not the ones causing the trouble...
These service or companion dogs are all over the place——there are two in my apartment building, which does not allow dogs.
Apparently getting certification is almost guaranteed.

I called the cops on one. Expensive ticket!
you see,we've been given everybody and their brother these special dispositions/special rights and the mass of people are the ones inconvenienced, slowed, sickened, billed, etc for it....
I thought I heard in one video the woman say, “I am a professor”
Well, luckily for me, I love dogs, so I guess this doesn’t really wind me up. Unless, of course, these people expect other people to look after their dogs as has been described on this thread.
I really never paid much attention to it until I was checking in a hotel recently. The two women at the front desk were talking about it. If person is traveling with their pet and a hotel is hard to find, I guess some are willing to lie about it.
I prefer hotels that don’t allow pets for a lot of reasons.
I was just on a flight where they announced that one of the passengers had claimed a severe peanut allergy. Their first announcement was that they weren’t going to serve peanuts on the flight. Their second announcement was they asked everyone on the flight to not open or eat anything they brought with them that might have peanuts. The third announcement was they were cancelling all snack service, including beverages, out of caution. So, we couldn’t even have water, because of one person’s supposed peanut allergy that is who knows how severe.
Doggie ping.

My oldest is in his Junior year at WIU, cannot wait for him to be done and out of there. (Thankfully he's no snowflake, rather he ridicules them. I wonder where he got that from .....)
I’ve always had dogs——the dogs don’t bother me,often the people that aquire the dogs do..
In my complex we had to establish a leash rule because the first dog was just let out the door to use “the restroom” and then we had the problem of dog poop on common area property.
My daughter had to fly 6 hours from the west coast with a constantly drooling dog beside her———and she has a dog.
