Abraham Lincoln Statue Vandalized
Chicago, IL – In the most dumbfounding vandalism of the year, somebody set an Abraham Lincoln statue on fire in Chicago on Wednesday, according to 15th Ward Alderman Raymond Lopez.
The monument has stood near 69th & Wolcott St since it was erected in 1926. It is now blackend by fire.
By all appearances, somebody dumped accelerant on the bust and then lit it on fire.
According to Alderman Lopez, Chicago PD is investigating who committed the act and what their motivation was.
Abraham Lincoln, who led the Union to victory in the civil war and ended slavery, appears to be an unlikely target for vandalism. At least, that’s what I would think. Based off of the comments of some locals, Abraham Lincoln was a racist who said a lot of “racist shit.”

Let's go back just a few months. There was an attempted assassination of several Republican Representatives at that baseball practice. How much investigation has been done to the background and connections of the shooter? Where was the media outrage? How come even DC pols have let that issue disappear? How about that having happened in VA, with no outrage or "get to the bottom of it" from their excuse of a Governor?
One can only conclude that even DC elected Republicans are in on the dismantling of the US as we used to know it. I do think that attempted assassination was an attempt to violently overthrow the elected US government.

I read some things that said what you posted, but I’ve also read that Lincoln changed his mind about blacks after he met with some of them personally. In other words, he realized he was mistaken, and did what he could to set things on the right path.

He did. His first belief was a common belief at the time. His first comment is what they are calling him racist for though. 100% correct. The fact is tribalism is a major part of how people organized themselves and thought. Not condoning it, but it has taken decades since then to civilize and correct man’s view of one another. There was lots of religious bigotry as well that we have moved past.
