A fifth of male fish are now transgender because of chemicals from the contraceptive pill being flushed down household drains, a study by has suggested. Male river fish are displaying feminised traits and even producing eggs, the study found. Some have reduced sperm quality and display less aggressive and competitive behaviour, which makes them less likely to breed successfully.

It would seem logical. We know from Flint, Michigan, Love Canal, and Camp Lejeune chemicals in the water affect humans. The water source for many municipalities is river water which is processed but contains chemicals from the sewer discharges from towns and cities upstream as well as agricultural runoff. In rural areas wells are certainly impacted by chemicals leaching into the groundwater from septic systems, agricultural chemicals and industry contamination.
A true, objective scientific study of municipal water would likely show humans drinking tap water are ingesting many different drugs and industrial chemicals in amounts that over time will affect development of the species.
The Camp Lejeune water contamination studies have been slow walked for more than two decades. Over one million people were impacted during 40+ years of contamination. One would think a population of this size would be ideal for obtaining real results on the long term impact of chemical contamination of a water supply. However, the government is still conducting “studies” while the veterans, dependents, and civilian workers on the base die from cancer and other diseases. Perhaps once everyone impacted is dead, the government will release a final study.
Likely the ugly truth is most tap water is contaminated with chemicals and is poisoning some individuals while altering genetically the species. Since the cost of cleaning up and avoiding this chemical pollution of drinking water would be astronomical, it is being covered up. Otherwise, why would the EPA contamination of the Animas River be a non-story?
In other news some fish can change their gender Naturally or unnaturally depending on how you want to look at it.
If you have a tank full of female guppies or swordtails....one or two will transform in males. It’s normal for some fish. Sounds to me like the sob sisters on the left have found a new battle cry, is all.
Contraceptive pills are hormonal based. This raises a concern that women who resume contraceptive medication, following a birth, and while breastfeeding a male child could be an issue.
Not sure that many women are flushing their pills down the toilet but perhaps there is residue in the urine.
There needs to be some qualified research on transgenderism in young children. It is very disturbing to witness and seems to be a recent, modern day trend.
Something to think about when the topic of gray water recycling comes up. It would be legitimate to look around and wonder if it's something in the water.
The bad news is that the “dilution” thing doesn’t matte: these hormones are biologically reconcentrated. That means they get taken up and stored selectively by the vertebrates’ natural physiological properties.
I mentioned vertebrates because it’s not just fish. For years other amphibians and reptiles living by US waterways have been affected by estrongenic hormonal contamination.
If we don’t want the males around us to have eggs proteins in their testicles, maybe we’d better re-think our excellent hormonal contraceptive adventure.

Fake news. Sensational headline. Fish deformities are blamed on all types of pollution.
The only “qualified study” on young “transgendered” children needs to be done on THEIR PARENTS!
