Take it to the track and enjoy it without the high insurance.
Existing construction, out beyond the suburbs, 3,000+ sq ft
I am sure that some on the list may be difficult to get for under $100K. Like the Corvette Z06 and the Dodge Viper. Others are definately under $100K and should be.
I have driven lots of buggies and subaru’s but not the new subaru engines.
VW engines were so simple to repair but required regular maintenance.
Early Subaru design was wear it out and throw it away.
Porshe 914 motor worked for me
You must not live in Trump country. Pick a state that is deep red and any city less than 50,000 not iN aN uran MSA. How many acres would you like that massive house to be on?
Not in insurance, but wife sells high end cars. For a new Z06, $1000 per year is common, but varies widely of course. Many will pay twice that much.
High end cars tend to be purchased by older people who get lower rates. Buy a BMW M-series and you’ll get hosed no matter what.
1k/yr? Hard to believe.
Ohhhh. Drive that to the beach. You will NOT leave alone.
If I sell he house I can make the down payment. Now, if I can convince the wife to live in it..............
I remember when my dad went car shopping. Bought a new 1964 Chevy Impala.
He talked about how ridiculous the price of a Corvette was..... $4000.
Calculate prices in ounces of gold (or even silver) at the time compared to now.
“If I need speed Ill get a bike”
I had that exact conversation with my father over the weekend. The new Ninja ZX-14R has a top speed of 208, but I wouldn’t buy a new one. The 2008 model would do a quarter-mile in 9.47-second at 152.83 mph, and also hits 60 mph in 2.6 seconds.
And look at the immediate devaluation.
We are in a bubble
In the upper peninsula that will get you a huge house and a decent plot of land. Of course, if you want to borrow the proverbial cup of sugar from your neighbor you will need an ATV and a GPS device.

You can get the new ones with a VW engine if you want, I think the SoCal place specializes in that, more old school. Some limitations with that though, that the STI engine or really any modern Subaru would get you past, for instance reliable heat and defrost as well as A/C if you want that (seems like overkill to me). Some use the Sube flat six but I’d worry about it getting tail-heavy.
I would be careful buying anything expensive right now. We ARE in a bubble.
If I had a spare 250K why would I waste it on housing in this market?
The article says you that can buy a Viper, but it’s too late. They stopped taking orders a couple of months ago. So the last one is already spoken for.
They’re very striking vehicles, I’d love to have one. A little steep for what would amount to a beach toy though. I guess it could be driven for more routine types of travel. They are very fast, when set up for predominately street use as that one is. Love the retro Torq Thrust wheels with the low profile tires. Make mine that old metal flake orange like the Cox motorized scale dune buggy, I had one of those, looked just like the full size one the family had for use down at Long Beach, NC.
