A bunch of years ago a whole bunch the guys from England they were great guys, these guys they came from England and they made this country. They made it. From the ground up. And the country was conceived in liberty. As it should be. I love liberty. I was elected on liberty. And Im going to restore it. Im going to make liberty great again.
And it was also dedicated to the idea that all men are created equal. Men and women. I did better than any other Republican with women. Three to one. Or more. Thats the figures Ive heard. Three to one.
Anyway, were here today because Democrats think that this great nation of our cant survive. Schumer and his buddies think we cant survive. This nation. The one that was founded so many years ago on liberty. They think liberty cant survive. But let me tell you It can survive. It can survive. Were going to make it survive. Bigly.
But were here today to dedicate this cemetery. Dedicating this cemetery is the right thing to do, I think we all agree on that. Its a sad place. A lotta hurt here. A lotta people dead here. And for what? For what? So the Democrats can stand in the way of America being a great nation? Thats right. They stand in the way. Theyre like those orange barrels you see on the highway: in the way. Always in the way.
But were here to dedicate this cemetery and to recognize the men who died here. And dont forget the women too. They died too. The women. Theyre the ones the men and the women who made the sacrifice here. Not us. Our sacrifice comes later. But these folks, the ones who gave their lives here, theyre the ones who make this hallowed ground. Not us.
The battle isnt over. Not by a long shot. Theres a lot of work left to be done. A lot of work. These dead people have just started. Now its up to us. Now its the time for us to start making our sacrifices. Otherwise, this is just an empty gesture. The Democrats are great at empty gestures. Their gestures all empty. But ours arent. Our are great gestures. Our gestures are great. Theyre more than gestures. Theyre realities.
Because we can leave here today with a greater inspiration from these dead people. They can inspire us to reject the fake news and the terrible, terrible stories about me and my cabinet these stories where do they get these stories? They make them up, thats where. They make them up. Theyre fake news. Fake news.
But we can take away a renewed sense of commitment to stronger borders, and lower crime, and better government. And we can take away today a stronger resolve to Make America Great Again!
Really . . . if you think about it . . . the “Civil War” started when the slave states wrote slavery into the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
And why did the slave states want slavery in the DOI and the Constitution. Because they thought it was in their best interest.
And who were the slave states? New York. New Jersey. New Hampshire. Massachusetts. Connecticut. Rhode Island. Pennsylvania. Delaware. Maryland.
Oh yes, don't forget Virginia. North and South Carolina. And Georgia. They were slave states too.
Only 13 of the original 13 states voted to put slavery into the DOI and the U.S. Constitution. And only 9 of the 13 slave states were in the north . . . if you think about it.
You’ve delivered a lot of sarcasm in your answer (which only serves to weakens your argument) but you have offered very little in the way of intellectual discourse.
Slavery was a dicey subject to be sure...which I think is your point...but a majority of people had about enough of it starting in about 1825. I said a majority. There was still plenty who supported it.
The potential introduction of a new state (such as Missouri) into the union represented the first opportunity the abolitionist had to gain leverage over those who supported slavery. This truly began the political struggle that ultimately led to the Civil War.
That is an interesting comment. Can you be more specific?
That’s where you want to start?.....with the sarcasm angle. Dude, go back to whatever you were doing. You’re not worth my time.
“Thats where you want to start?.....with the sarcasm angle. Dude, go back to whatever you were doing. Youre not worth my time.”
Sarcasm was the first thing you mentioned in your previous post (about my post), so I asked you about it.
I didn’t think there would be anything wrong in asking a question.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to put you on the spot.
Thanks for all the kind comments. I really get a kick out of listening to Trump speak.
“You believe the liberal media. so states don’t have the right to secede?”
I have no idea what “rights” are. The only thing we have is our own abilities to get what we want by whatever means at our disposal. The south tried but they fell short.
Obviously the south wasn’t fighting for freedom unless you believe keeping slaves is fighting for freedom.
What the South fought for was for self determination for the people then in power.
By the way I would not have been against them ceceding. I think slavery would have ended in the south without all the bloodshed. Sort of like the way apartheid ended in SA.
Brilliant. Reposting on Facebook.
Unless you tell me to delete it.
And even then, SUE ME, BITCH! ;)
