I’m curious. Were you alive 154 years ago? How has what happened 154 years ago made your life worse to justify your animosity towards the “north” today?
Lincoln haters our of step for 150 years.
Lincoln haters out of step for 150 years.
I believe Trump repeats himself so much because today’s citizens have such short attention spans, they need to have things hammered home for them. In other words, Trump’s style is a result of our society. Were he to make his points without the repetition, many would miss them. This speaking style was irritating to me at first, but the longer I listened, the more I realized he was waiting for the duller minds to catch up.
Agreed. Can’t argue with the results Trump has gotten so far with the approach.
You and I may not like the fact that is what it takes, but that’s the way it is.
Nope. In many ways he's less polished a speaker than GWB was. That only seems to really matter to people who want the same ol', same ol' though. His speeches crack me up.
...and a few lines of “THAT I can tell you.”
“My friend, The South was defending slavery.”
So was the North. Wasn’t like they banned it. Heck, the vast majority of slave trade money was held in New York city.
To claim the entire war was nothing but the defense of slavery is retarded and ignorant.
” How has what happened 154 years ago made your life worse to justify your animosity towards the north today?”
How about the animosity the north shows the south today? The liberal vitriol shown towards the south is nothing short of outright hatred and violence.
Very smiley. Suggest one edit.
In that graf about the women, the men and women? Just add that “I did very well with women in the election, too. Very well.”
Y’know, even if they didn’t have the franchise then it’s funny. (After all, they didn’t have orange barrels in the way back then, either.
“Read his first inaugural address. His cause for war was secession by the South, not the institution of slavery.”
You’ll never get the liberal northern bigots to read that speech.
That was funny! I’d toss in a “believe me” somewhere, but otherwise, that was spot on!
LOL! I knew someone would have to reboot the Civil War.
Love it!
“How has what happened 154 years ago made your life worse to justify your animosity towards the north today?”
Washington D.C. Start with that.
“The South was fighting for freedom”
That is what I’m thinking. Just seeking confirmation.
You can rightfully claim the war was about economics or keeping the Union together....but slavery was always at the core of these issues and many others. Really...if you think about it... the Civil war started with the Missouri Compromise in 1825 and ran through Appomattox in 1865. The Presidents from 1825-1860 had no freaking clue how to put a lid on the situation which is why none of their names are memorable. The lid finally blew off in 1860 and war broke out.
“...to justify your animosity towards the north today?”
How did you arrive at that conclusion? I said absolutely nothing about the North. Not a thing. I was referring to historical facts. Sorry to disappoint you.
Pretty good, but Donald uses triples almost exclusively. It’s a sales technique that he has honed over his lifetime and he couldn’t change if he wanted to. You did well mixing it up with adjectives and inversions, but typically his come in triplets.
Wonderful. A+.
I’m going to tweet this.
