Those were Weinstein's Oscar winners with Miramax. Since then the new company, The Weinstein Company, has won with Chicago and The King's Speech. They also had a hand in making The Artist or bringing it to America.
The Weinsteins probably have a lot of people reading scripts for them. Young Obama's probably only one of many. A president's kid is a curiosity, somebody to show off to Hollywood people who are impressed by that sort of thing. Harvey's not going to have her making coffee for him. But that doesn't mean she's running the company.

I had an interest in the film industry, back in the day. Between the ages of 14 and 24 I could call a hit that hadn’t been greenlighted, had been green lighted or had just been released with very high accuracy. I took this skill for granted but it fell off as I got older.

A Bollywood company tried to shoot a movie in Grand Central Terminal but all the Indians were crowding around to watch, in spite of pleas from the moviemakers to go away. They had to move it to another city, Philly I think, and pretend it was Grand Central.
Then again, Spacey's all right on the scene. Not sure I'd like to be around him in person.
So, maybe I'd crowd for Aishwarya Rai, or even Archie Panjabi.

Marine Jahan was Jennifer Beals’ body double for the dancing scenes. Jahan was kept hidden from the press because the filmmakers did not want to ruin the illusion. Alex’s leap through the air in the audition scene was done by gymnast Sharon Shapiro and the break-dancing was done by Crazy Legs.(a guy!)
When I took the Sound of Music tour in Salzburg the guide said no wonder Maria is late and tired when she returns to the abbey at the start of the movie. The field where she sings in the opening is a huge distance from it.
