yep. I have two M&P 9 Shields.
Nice reliable, accurate carry guns. But price is low enough that I’m not going to cry about losing one if it saves my life. Besides, there is always the Kahr, it would like more time out of the safe.
Or I could beg Mrs Child to loan me her Sig.

That’s the main reason my primary carry weapon is a Glock 23. I initially used a HK USP .40 Compact. Nice pistol, but very expensive to replace. At LE pricing, I can get two Glock 23s for the price of one HK.

That is why it is important to have more than one gun you are comfortable with for CCW. I have several and would not trade any vs. my life. I do not have two of the same make, but practice with them all.

“Because they’re worth it.”

Bersa.
Well executed knockoff of a Walther.
Smooth function, once broken in, SA/DA, decocker, decent sights, light, easily maintained, 8/9 round capacity depending on mag and caliber...easily found for around $275.00 in .380 and about $315.00 in 9 mil.
Not a weapon for the "gun snobs", but what the hell do they know, anyway?
But it is one that I won't cry about losing to the system if I have to use it in my defense.

I was looking at the Kimber 380s for a pocket piece. Real nice works of art. But knowing what would happen if I ever need to use it, I went with the Ruger. Same here - I was looking at the Solo Crimson Carry. I'd just hate to lose something like that to "the system", so I got a cerakoted Ruger LCP instead, and I can buy another one next week if I have to.

"The perp gets a dirt nap and Ill just go buy another HK." Yeah, but my initial reaction was, "Where could I find another Chantilly P7M8 as nice as mine, nowadays...?"

Im sure that by the time you get it back, if you do, its so damned corroded that you might as well toss it. That's why we all have replacements, and we can replace those as well.

I really like the Kimber pieces.
I’ve shot Nighthawks, Les Baers, Ed Bowns, Springfield Customs, but using/losing one of those $5-7-9k+ pieces in a shooting confiscation, would be a seriously bad thing. Better to save that hardware for special days at the range.

If your LCP has a mag disconnect there may be a youtube showijg how to remove it.
Took me about 15 minutes on my LC9.

Every man need 4 pistols. Two revolvers and two semi autos.
One small, and one full sized of each.
Spend the $2500 and just do it.
