This sort of publicity is “virtue signaling”. A method of differentiating the elite from the un-virtuous, un-enlightened masses. This signaling is the “club” that liberal politicians, their media sycophants, and the academic elite use to designate themselves as worth listening to.

Funny thing is when I did the search for this Libtards are high-fiving themselves all over Google.

Idiots don’t understand the first thing about customer service and relations. Explains the Target fiasco though.

Ivanka should return the jewelry and request a refund.

Reason, not classy enough.

not to paint with too broad a brush, but this example also illustrates a trend in the millenial culture. These twits were not so much motivated by the donations they made but by their ability to post their snarky note on social media. To a much greater extent than any previous generation, they grew up with technology that makes everything into a performance, to be judged by their peers and “friends”. They will consider their actions vindicated as long as many or most of the comments on social media are supportive because to an extent they view life as one big reality show contest, not where there are absolute “rights” and “wrongs”. Whoever gets the most clicks wins. It’s pretty sad.

Ivanka could also sue them for violation of their Privacy Policy, which is conveniently posted on their website. They can only use Customer’s information (including their name) if they ask for consent first.

The Trump family might be owning another jewelry business soon.

Well, that's it. I'm never ordering another set of earrings from that company. Or any of the lacy corsets either, even the one I like so much...

Wait, wrong forum...

Wow, they split $84 three ways....how generous. I’d like to see some concrete proof they actually made those donations, but I’m sure I’d be yelled at and called names.

“I hope she returned the merchandise and requested a full refund.”

I don’t. I hope she auctions it off. She can always donate the money raised to the NRA, or YAF, or a pro-life organization.

If I were Ivanka, I would put the jewelry up for auction, with half the proceeds going to the Trump campaign, and the rest going to Pro Life and Pro Gun organizations.

I bet she could raise 10’s of thousands.

I just sent them this;

I am always on the search for new, interesting, different jewelry for my wife. I have seen a few of your collections and they are absolutely stunning.
I also shop with the intent that the hard earned money that I spend goes to an honest, hardworking, moral and ethical business.
Your letter to Ivanka Trump pretty much killed that.
I’m not a big Donald Trump fan, either. To attempt to publicly chastise a customer who paid you a fair price for your product is morally and ethically wrong.
Morally wrong, because you simply used your business to promote a political opinion at a customer’s expense.
Ethically wrong, because you obviously don’t care where your money comes from, as long as it rolls in.
To top it off, it was just rude.
If you had refused her order, I would at least respect your moral stand on a political issue or side.
I realize that the few thousand dollars that I may have spent on Lady Grey products will not make a difference in your business success, but maybe a few thousand like me will.

Spread the word!

That’s just classless. Anyone who would taunt a paying customer like that deserves to be run out of business.

Their whole gesture is futile. Ivanka Trump didn’t donate the money. The business donated the money - and obviously they don’t want any further business from half the electorate.

“Trump 2016. You guys can take a long hike off a short pier!
Your politics, your business but when you strike out to embarrass Ivanka Trump, you have used your
business to attack a customer. Rather than treat her as a person you treated her as an opportunity.

Your actions reflect badly on your company and your ethics.
I will spread the word.”

Every little bit helps....Liberals are so sanctimonious and they have the manners and consideration of a harpy.

Ultimate revenge: She wears the jewelry next January while attending her father’s inauguration ceremony.
